What are some of your go-to remedies for migraines or headaches?

Let's see if we can help each other with our favorite soothing methods for helping migraines and headaches. I started struggling with nearly daily migraines this year and I'm always looking for more ways to help.

What do you do for your migraines and headaches?

I find mint altoids really helpful for acute pain(like 10 at once). I also brew a strong ginger turmeric tea. Pressure point bands that they sell for sea sickness have been great for dealing with nausea. I use a green light filter on my phone and laptop(emerald city mode in a free program called Flux). Studies show that green helps with pain relief. I find it the easiest type of light to look at during a migraine. I wear noise blocking music ear buds when I'm out because it looks less awkward then ear plugs. The most helpful thing for me has been accupunture. There is an accupunture school in my town and I find the student clinic affordable.

Cup your hand over your mouth and inhale and exhale a few time.

If you have a friend, or loved one nearby, take a few breaths, left your head drop down and have them place pressure at the base of your skull and push towards your skull, or use their thumbs on either side of the skull, starting at base of your neck and move thumbs towards your skull.

Food wise, try chocolate it contains caffeine. Widely used in nearly all medications for migraines,

OTC - Excedrin Migraine works great if you catch the migraine early enough.

Imitrex Nasal Spray (prescription) works long lasting and quickly.

Close up every door, window and curtain I can find, take the softest pillow available, put a bucket, a towel and a glass of water next to the bed, turn of the bell and every possible electric device, drug myself up (Ibuprofen and if there is no reaction after an hour: novamin. The worst possible time for a migraine is nighttime. The medication for seizure-treatment don't work well with painkillers), force myself to drink a cup of cold coffee and eat at least half of a bun (plain), lay down and hope to fall asleep within the next hour.
