What do you think needs to be taught in school? I think that a basic self-defense class would be a good idea.

Two things I've always thought would be absolutely necessary but are basically ignored.
Money Management - We don't teach our kids how to maintain a checking acct, budget, get a loan, invest, save, buy a house, shop for insurance. We just toss them out on the street to fend for themselves.
Psychology - If we all had a better understanding of our fellow human and of ourselves, the world would be a much more tolerant ...and happier place.
i think there should be a class of how to take care of animals properly it should be optional tho
basic living skills: how to apply for a job, pay bills, money management, basic laws, where to ask for help for different things as an adult(mental health issues, work place problems, money problems etc. domestic problems), how to get pregnant if you want and what to expect. and so on.
In my school we learned of this stuff in health and personal development.
-lgbtqia+ history
-general life skills (how to do taxes, pay off debt, etc.)
-basic medical needs (CPR, first aid, what medicines are for what, etc.)
School is a disgrace in the US. We need to find a way not to leave the graduates of High school unfit for anything but the lowest paid jobs by default. We need to attach the money to the student and encourage them to graduate early to go into their career fields earlier (and give them the money to go to college on). If there are no delays (loss of funds, terrible life events), we turn out a doctor at age 28. Assuming they retire at 65, they have spent almost half their life in school, and their serviceable life is only 27 years, but then many of them will go to part time because they will want to start families of their own, or they get sick in their later years. If we could get doctors even 4 years sooner, we would be less critically short, as they would have longer serviceable years.
Idk about other districts in the US, but home ec!! Like I wanna be able to master sewing and baking for a class block!
More languages to choose from, because in schools, there is only Spanish and French usually.
Mental health and interpersonal relationships.
I missed answering: Cultural Anthropology 101. It's a shame that young women actually honstly think that traditionally women are subservient or submissive to men, and that we have to fight to change human nature (or worse yet - just embrace our role in life as stepstools). Anthropology would teach that facts that humans are naturally egalitarian, that marriage is not a religious construct, that all societies have morals, that morals do not stem from religion, that all traditional societies have music and dancing. It would also teach that in a traditional society, all people have a right to whatever healthcare the society can provide. In a traditional society, parents are not the sole providers of child-rearing (which is the cause of SO MUCH stress and unhappiness in our society).
