It can be anything from biting your nails to smoking. How did you kick the habit? Which method(s) do you recommend others try in order to kick the same habit?

I managed to quit ice after almost 3 years on it!!

Almost 20 years later and I’ve had it maybe twice but still not addicted!

Almost 10 years now and not tried any drugs

Biting my nails and the skin around them. It was when I'd be biting them and they slipped on my teeth and I'd scratch my gums, and my teeth would hit each other at a weird angle. I was scared I'd break or lose a tooth, or severely slice my gums that did it for me, but not completely.
I got really into nail art and binged on nail tech videos. I wanted nails that were longer and nicer looking. This started a nail care and decorating hobby. I bought glue-on nails so I couldn't bite my natural ones. I didn't like what the glue was doing to my natural nail plate and when I started caring for them they didn't get all jagged and the insatiable desired to pick and bite was gone.
I've relapsed a couple times but then I make myself use clippers and files to fix the ones that break.

The classic here. I stopped smoking after approx. 16 years.
    I stopped nail-biting, too.
I'm 31 now and happy as can be.
Still highly addicted to coffee and also picking my nose frequently, but hey, I'm not aiming to be perfect.

Biting my nails, smoking, toxic relationships, caring about what other people would say…

Chocolate. May be not real bad habit but my liver sometimes disagrees with my addiction.
