What talent/gifts do you have because of what your parents did?

My dad's a lawyer, so every single time something legal comes up in school (like a mock trial or a book with courtroom scenes) I have to sit there, silently stewing, because EVERY SINGLE THING IS INACCURATE.

My mom, on the other hand, works in state government/education finance, so I'm not allowed to apply for certain grants that her office administrates. On the bright side, I know that the state legislative building's cafeteria is open to the public, and has the best goddamn banana pudding I've ever tasted.

In summary: If you want someone to point out inaccuracies in a court scene, someone to help you find state-run financial aid for college, or someone to get you badass banana pudding, give me a call.

Not sure if this counts, but my mom is a waldorf handwork teacher. I've been crocheting since I was 4, knitting since I was 5, and sewing both by hand and on a sewing machine for... a very long time. I can also do both wet and needle felting. I can do some types of simple weaving, and there's probably some other skills I'm forgetting.

Similarly, I have the opposite thing from my dad. He's a German teacher, and when I was homeschooled he always promised that he would teach me. He never did. Now that I'm in highschool I'm taking German and Spanish, but I had to start in German level 1, byt i went into a higher level of Spanish, which I had at my old school. What's worse is that he's friends with my current German teacher, and she expected me to already know a lot of German.

Cool! I also knit, crochet and know how to sew. All thanks to my mother, who insisted that I should learn some kinds of skills since she never had the chance to learn any.
