I’m considering becoming a female so females of Bored Panda, what are the good things and bad things about being a female

#1

well biological female here, it sucks if i'm being honest but it's a plus if you don't have to go through the hormones involved with it naturally. there can be harassment from people and people not thinking you're good enough just because you're a woman. but doing your hair and makeup is fun, and clothing choices are pretty fun (aside from the almost nonexistent POCKETS)

Pros: Most, if not all women will look out for each other in situations that might be dangerous, like bars, clubs, walking home at night, etc. The hairstyles are amazing and generally more accepted, makeup is fun, and you'll get a lot more affection and compliments from your friends.

Cons: No pockets, catcallers, some women see you as "competition", your emotions are blamed on your period no matter what, and general sexism. Also beauty standards are a b***h

Female here. I'm just going to keep this light since I'm sure sexism and loss of rights will be brought up. So cons. Menstruating! It's messy, ruins good underwear, and can be painful and uncomfortable. Also pockets. Why are pockets in women's pants so small? It's annoying. On to pros, we live longer, don't have to wear 3 piece pant suits in the summer, and multiple orgasms 😁

Pros: I can’t think of much except I would be absolutely hopeless as a man. People generally aren’t afraid of women, so I guess that’s good sometimes. I like taking care of people and pets; I’m a pretty good caregiver. But, so are some men. I like being a woman, being feminine. I hate that the cons make being a woman so difficult.

Cons: Rampant misogyny. Having to ask my dad or brother to help me deal with misogynists sometimes. Not being as physically strong as a man. No one taking me seriously because I’m also short and killing my feet wearing high heels just to get a bit of attention. Always being on alert. Feeling vulnerable. Periods. Cramps. Menopause. Pee pads (even without having had children). Constantly being underestimated. Not having complete agency over my own body. Being followed by random men. Being hit on by men when I was underage. Men not taking NO for an answer. Sexual harassment.

PS: I have deep respect for trans women. You choose to be a woman and deal with a lot of the cons. So many cons. In my opinion that makes you as much a woman as a CIS woman.
