My best friend's name is Karen. I met her through church when I moved cross country. She took a chance on meeting a total stranger at the airport, taking me to Walmart so I could get some necessities and driving me to an empty house. Her husband was out of the area for work and so was mine so we ended up spending a lot of time together. She took me to look at some cheap used cars and we test drove them. She helped me get to know the town and gave me furnishings and a fridge. She even let me sleep at her house until the bed was delivered and she let me use her washer and dryer. She's probably the most selfless person I know. We had a surprising amount of things in common and became friends right away. I really hate that the name "Karen" has become a nickname for any entitled, self centered woman. I was friends with 3 Karens in school and they were all friendly and kind hearted. Just wondering if anyone else is bothered by this?

My sisterโ€™s name is Karen. She is 100% the kindest person I know. She is an incredible friend, sister, aunt and daughter. She nursed my mom while my momโ€™s illness was progressing and then throughout the final stages of my momโ€™s life. Itโ€™s unfortunate that the โ€˜Karen memeโ€™ has destroyed her name and turned it into something uglyโ€ฆ when sheโ€™s such a beautiful person inside and out.

Thanks for telling us about your sister, Karen. She sounds wonderful and just another example of why the "Karen" is offensive. Sorry about your Mom.
