Cinnamon Ann might not have been the smartest dog in the world, but she was definitely one of the sweetest! My favorite story is when she went missing one day. Called and called for her, whole neighborhood searched, called the vet and the shelter, etc. Nothing. Late that night an 18-wheeler pulled into our driveway. The door opens, and Cinnamon leaps out followed by a long haul truck driver. He found her on the freeway and when he pulled over, she jumped right in. I was one happy kid!
My first cat( of many) was Mumma puss, a local fully feral queen, who for years would give birth to litters of kittens in our shed and leave them for us to re home..... When I was about 4 I had gained her trust enough to grab her and carry her inside, covered in blood and scratches, asked my mum if we could keep her...... We did, and after her final litter of 8 kittens, we had her desexed, and she lived the next 12 years in luxury, till she passed in her sleep, in her favorite sunny spot in the garden....where we buried her.... She was my only childhood friend, a beautiful soul... ( now I'm crying....)
Garfield. I got him as a kitten. He was an orange minx. I had him until I was thirteen I believe. He had become blind and deaf. His fur had faded to where he blended in with our gravel driveway. My step-dad came home from work and poor Garfield didn't hear or see the car and was run over. I miss that cat everyday of my life.
We had a one eyed (to my knowledge it was born that way(maybelline?)), it lived outside and I was absolutely terrified of it for some reason. Its name was Bugs Bunny
Oh I forgot to say what it was XD It was a rabbits if the name didn't give it away
My parents adopted a mixed-breed puppy who seemed almost wild when I was a baby. She had a horrible life before us so she has some really weird habits. She didn't like to be held or cuddled, and she hated my dad for a while. But she came to love us and she and I grew up together. (She was only a couple of months older than me). Shortly after we turned 14, we had to put her down because she was old, but I will never forget playing the recorder as she howled along and playing tug of war with her. She was great!
Krümel. When I was starting school in 1973, our Family got this little dog. In Germany the just had startet to broadcast Sesamestreet. Groover was called Grobi, and I loved him. So I wanted to call our dog Grobi. When my parents brought him home, they told me, they had decided to call hin Krümel instead. Krümel being short for Krümelmonster, the German name for Cookiemonster.
she was and is fantastic. she bows back when you bow to her. she knows when to get her tennis ball. even when a ball is bigger than her head, she still manages to fit it in her mouth. she jumps higher than she’s tall. she has the most insanely perfect hair i have ever known any being to have. she can balance ten treats on her nose, head, paws, and elbows and hold it for a very long time. she is very behaved when i’m brushing her teeth. she looks great in kerchiefs.
Meya, she was the best damn dog, I miss her so much, I regret not saying goodbye to her before she was put down, I never got to say goodbye to her and I’m full of guilt because of that. I’m getting teary eyed just writing this. Great, now I’m crying.
My childhood pets are all dead.
When I was a little kid like kindergarten me and my sister had pet fish. They stayed in the same bowl. I’m pretty sure my fish ate my sister’s then died itself…
My sister had 2 female bettas in a tank together. The smaller one killed and ate the bigger one then ate the plant in the tank. She is very fat and is nicknamed the chonky piranha
We had a couple kitties. I had a gray and white one named Fluffy (because I was 5 at the time, and when you're 5, all cats are,'fluffy'). My sister's cat was named Ginger. Which was odd because he wasn't an orange cat, he was one of those dark gray/blackish tabbies.
my snake pythor is on "show me your weird animals" or something like that. my profile pic is him.
Somehow, two of my childhood dogs are still alive. Lula is 13 1/2 (14 in June) and Maisy is 12 and they are a bonded pair. I've had them since I was five and six, respectively.
They're a hilarious pair because Lu is blind and a happy kind of senile. She has no idea what is going on, but she will just sit in the middle of the room, smiling to her hearts content. She survived an attack from another dog a few months ago and had emergency surgery. We thought we were going to lose her, but Wonderdog strikes again.
Maisy is partially deaf and loves to pretend that she can't hear a word you say like she's completely deaf. She has a one-track mind that only thinks about food but she is the sweetest dog you would ever meet.
I dread the day one of them dies because the other will soon follow and I have very few memories of life before them.
I've had four childhood dogs (one had to be rehomed and another passed away) and six in total, so they are troopers at welcoming new puppies to the family.
For a period of time, my mum got her, my sister and I each a guinea pig. mine was all black with a patch of tan at the back and his name was Jeff. When we got home from the pet store, I was scared to pick him up out of the box, since I was scared he would bite me or something. He did actually end up biting me, and I cried my eyes out.
After that, I was cool and I loved all the guinea pigs. We would put a cloth on the table and put the guinea pigs on the table with some food and watch them eat. They would also play follow the leader, and it was so cute!
Sadly, we had to move houses into a rental which did not allow pets, so we had to give the guinea pigs away. It was so sad, and I still miss my Jeff.
I used to have this big fluffy orange Kitty named sully. had him just less than 14 years. he was my best friend. my dad made me put him up for adoption :(
His name was Zeke, and he was a standard size dachshund. I named him after my 2nd grade boyfriend, Deke. He weighed about 35 pounds and looked like a small golden retriever. We adopted him when I was 7 and he was around 2. He was the best boy and all my friends loved him and his beautiful singing voice. He was definitely my mom’s dog but everyone adored him. My sister and I fought who Zeke would sleep with every night. I was 21 and he was around 16 or 17 when he died. I still miss him 40 years later.
I had a Frizzle chicken when I was little. I would sit in the yard and eat wild onions with him, watch tv with him, explore with him, we did practically everything together. One day my family’s crazy bird dog got loose and killed him. I tried to run out and stop him, but my mom held me back. My dad flung my chicken friend’s corpse into the woods before I could bury him. RIP T-Rex.
Im a teen, so my pet that i still have is a gecko named speckles, shes a cute little thing, she bit me last night
