When I was a kid, I had this cat named Eddie. At the time, he was my best friend. Every day when I woke up, he was waiting outside my bedroom door. Every day after school, I would go find him and read with him. He was an old cat, and his front paws were declawed, so he always seemed so gentle. When he died, I got a stuffed animal resembling him that I still have.
My great uncle... he stayed with us once, the one thing i remember about him is he really loved dr peppers, and so did i! So we had that in common and would chill sippin on dp's :3
I was probably 10 or 11. My dad took me to an osu football game. They were playing their rivels Michigan. It was a cold November day. I was clueless abt the game but still walking across the campus with dad.
Fast forward 10 or so years. Working construction with my step dad. Riding in the work truck in the pre dawn darkness. Old country songs playing on the radio. Learning what work really meant.
Saturday mornings listening to NPR shows with mom as i helped with the chores.
I was blessed with 3 loving parents who although at times busted my chops and deflated my ego. I knew then and I know now how special they were.
If I want to conjure up a picture of my dad, he's reclining in a chair and singing along to some song on the tv. His eyes are closed, he's gently tapping a foot on the floor, and his nostrils flare slightly when singing certain notes. Miss you dad.
