When Rescues Find Peace
You Got Snacks?
my "neigh"bor was a horse. His best friend was a burro named Clementine. She was in the town's living Nativity for as long as I could remember. When she died, the human neighbors put Jack, the horse in the stall while they buried her. Her kicked his way out, and stood over her grave for hours, and spent time with her everyday until he died, shortly after.

Love the title! I used to chicken sit for a neighbor. Their house was better than mine!

Waiting For Breakfast
Looks like morning at my ranch...except the crows and ravens I feed would be lining the fence like a scene from THE BIRDS. They don't get their breakfast until the horses' get theirs!

Ombré Of Horses.
Thank you for sending me to the dictionary! An ombré means having tones of color that shade into each other, graduating from light to dark. My word for the day!

Beans
Saw the title before I saw the picture. Thought it might be cat toes. Not entirely disappointed, I love these beans, too.
Our Rescued Wild Fledgling, Finally Feeling Better!
Good Girl.
She reminds me of my Fancy. She loved playing croquet. Her jaws were so strong, we could lift her off the ground by the ball. Not far, but she loved it. She didn't chew on the balls, she just loved playing with us. Even though she was a very good girl, if she didn't want to give it up, she wouldn't. She trained me to give her treats to get the ball back.

Turkeys Who Aren't--I Raised Turkeys For Pets Only From Two-Days-Old Starting In The House Until Old Enough To Be With Everyone Outside. They Are Adorable, Intelligent, Loyal, And Along With The Geese, Great Protectors! A Drive In My Truck With The Gang In The Back Stopped Traffic! Miss Them So Much! They Usually Made It To 20-Years-Old.
I've got a turkey I hand raised in my mixed flock of pet birds. She's one part spoiled lap bird and one part flock leader and protector. She loves socializing with people enough a couple times a year I have to go pick her up after she flies over the fence to hang out with the neighbors if they're having a get together or she hears kids playing. She's made friends with a lot of the neighbors because of how friendly she is. She's also driven off several predators including one of the largest opossums I've ever seen and once a red tailed hawk as well. That hawk beat her up quite a bit and cracked her beak enough some bone was visible but none of the flock died and she made a full recovery as she got extra spoiled.
