My husband is 33 years old and he doesn't know how to ride a bike. Honestly I think if you don't want to learn, there's no need to learn. They cannot make you do something tou don't want to do. Also if they really wanted you to go, they should have taught you when you were younger so you'd know how to by now.

Ooh I had a similar experience.

I never learned as a child because I didn’t care to. I kept falling and just put my training wheels back on and then avoided it for years afterwards.
At 14, my parents told me we were going on a trip where we would be riding our bikes.

I just practiced like hell the week before. I wasn’t great, but I learned how to not just continuously fall. At first, I fell down about every time I attempted to move, had some minor cuts and scraps. But like you, I didn’t want to embarrass myself when we actually went in full public, so I just kept practicing.

It’s not as hard as it seems. I and my 3 year old cousin learned at the same time. We both figured it out.

Practice makes perfect!

If you are worried about embarrassing yourself while learning, you an find an empty parking lot to learn in, so you aren't on the sidewalk with people. Even if you do fall and look silly, I think most people wouldn't think much of it.
