Hey Pandas, If You Were Stuck On A Deserted Island, What Book Would You Bring? (Closed)
We all have our favorite books. Some of us have very practical books. But if you were stuck on a desert island, and could choose one book to have with you, what book would it be?

A book shaped like a boat, as waterproof as a boat, and full of the essentials, but it's still a book.
A sketchbook. I need to draw and write! It would be a great time to finish my drawings and books. Then I would start a diary.
Honestly, I have so many books I love and would love to have with me, but in the end, I would choose some sort of survival book. Something I could use to try and survive.
J. R. R Tolkien's Full Work. This composes of the Silmarillion, The Hobbit and all the Lord of the Rings books. It won't help me survive but at least I can read my favourite authors books until I die.
That would be my choice as well. And I think Tolkien would approve of his works as a means to escape.
If I could only bring a book and not something that would help me get off the island disguised as an actually book I would bring "Neverwhere" by Neil Gaimen.
How To Build & Sail Small Boats, Canoes, Punts & Rafts Etc, By Various Authors, Edited By Tony Read
Earth Children series by Jean Auel, but if I can only have one then Plains of Passage. The amount of detail it's basically a guide of how to survive like a cro-magnon. Plus it has enough smut to make it interesting.
Lonesome Dove. It’s long, captivating, and might make your own situation seem a bit less dire.
Camping and Woodcraft, by Horace Kephart. From 1906 - ok, earlier as separate books - it's an encyclopedic reference for survival skills. Plus, it's an entertaining read.
Les Miserables. Then maybe I'll actually read the dozens of pages Hugo dedicated to describing the Abby that I skipped the first time cause it was totally worthless. 🤣
Maybe you should consider the Count of Monte-Cristo by Dumas. It is a more entertaining read and the protagonist escapes an Island at some point.
A hand guide for witchcraft and spells so I could use the spells and potions to gain more stamina. Or a book about the French Revolution.
A really thick encyclopedia. By the time I've read everything in it I can start over again as so much of the information will seem new to me.
