Introspection and looking back are great ways to learn. How have you improved? What have you learned?

What new challenges have appeared in your life? And how can you deal with them moving forward?

Stopped drinking anything with caffeine in it since the past 4 years. Can now sleep without interruption, and I'm never tired during the day anymore

A huge step is recognizing it and you can now get help for yourself. Onward and upward!

I have literally come back to life. From nearly suffocating (hypoxia), I went back to breathing and, in due time, back to being physically normal. And it's been interesting how coming "back to normal" has actually changed me. Nothing to really pinpoint, but lots of food for reflection.
Most obvious physical change: I've grown my hair out :)

Astronomically. I used to be THE WORST. But now I'm terrible in a fun way. I gained fashion, independance, and learned how to surf. I can actually stand to look in a mirror now too.

Let's see: from jobless, about to give up on relationships and low self-esteem to having a great job, engaged to the most awesome woman ever and, consequently, good self-esteem (she helped get back to an old self that disappeared a long time ago).

    I got on ADHD medication.

I went from being depressed and suicidal to being able to live independently. I work full time at a job I don't hate that pays a wage I can live off of. I no longer live with my emotionally abusive parents. I completely paid off my car. I take care of my dog, my house and my laundry. I run a youtube channel. I got my first boyfriend at the age of 26. He's wonderful and so kind and patient and fun to be around.

I also became a communist. I'm not even joking. I joined a party, pay my dues every month, and attend branch meetings every week. I got elected to my branch's executive committee. It keeps me pretty busy. But I'm finally in a place where I can stop worrying about my own survival and actually work to build a better world for everyone. I love it.

I'm still extremely stressed out most of the time but I'm managing in ways I never could before and I'm so much happier. Getting on meds absolutely changed my life.

ADHD is so stigmatized and so misunderstood. We live in a world that is not built for us and frankly doesn't like us very much. ADHD can absolutely wreck your life if you don't have access to good treatment and good education about the condition. If you have access to good health care, do not be afraid to get tested and don't believe the stigma about medication. And if you are a parent of an ADHD kid. Please. For the love of Christ. Don't blame your child for their ADHD traits or punish them for it. I know the traits can be frustrating, especially if you were expecting a normal kid, but they can't help it. Love them, accept them, advocate for them, teach them about their condition, and please get them treated to the best of your ability.

I just want to end with a quote from a personal hero of mine. "Life is beautiful. Let future generations cleanse it of all evil, oppression, and violence, and enjoy it to the full."

I've grown, matured, wrote the first drafts of 2 books, fallen into a deep depression due to finally getting my life together and having it wrenched apart again by a move to the other side of the country, contemplated suicide, fell in love, and went from intovert to extravert to introvert again very abruptly. Yay.

I’m a lot more open. When I was younger I found it hard to say what I was actually feeling, but now I’m better at expressing myself.
