We met in elementary school. I had just moved and was switching schools. I started my new school in 3rd grade. So we actually have different stories of how we met. She says we met on the bus, I said we met on the playground. I suppose we will never know

I met my first bestie in elementary school. You know, the days when you just went up to someone and said, "we're going to be best friends", and that was it. No questions asked. We actually got along really well, and being a social person, I loved it. Eventually, life had other plans, and we lost touch. I tried to move on and make other friends, but I never really felt like I clicked with anyone.

Then this year I met someone new. We don't have much in common except for the hate for one particular class and the love for another. And so we bonded over that. He sends me pictures of his cats, so that's a plus. It may be a new friendship, and he may have other people in his life that are closer to him, but the reason I consider him to be a 'best' friend still is that we actually said 'i love you' to each other. As friends, guys. Why do I always have to clarify that? Anyway, I've only ever said that to people in my family, and could never even dream of saying it to my crush lol.

Maybe a little boring...but they're my sisters, so they were just born into my heart.

my other best friend I met because we were in the same regular class, and the same gifted kids program at my school. we have similar tastes in humor (there was a question on a quiz about the Titanic, and one of the answers was RIDICULOUS and we made a joke about it and were hysterical for like the next 30 minutes)

My primary schl bestie, on the very first day the teachers decided to sit a girl with a 7 letter name next to one with a 3 letter name, we got into a slight argument about how that wasn't fair that I had to spend so much longer tracing mine (I was a lovely child) and we were inseparable for 7 years after that.

I had two best friends I made when we started school. Then I moved a couple of years later but we still kept in touch until we were about 16. We were still facebook friends but didn't talk much. Then two years ago I moved again (I'm now in my 30s) and it turns out the house I bought is two streets away from one of them, so we've become close again!
My other best friend I met on the first day of high school. I was coming from a small primary school, and there were only two other girls from my class going to this high school. I wasn't really friends with them but we stuck together on the first day. So the three of us went into the yard for recess and we saw another group of three girls and decided to talk to them. We all hung out from then until our year 7 camp a few weeks later, when we were in the same cabin. My best friend and one of the girls from my primary school had this big blow up in the cabin and from then our group split in two, with me staying friends with two of the girls we met on that first day. We were all friends for the rest of high school, with other friends coming and going in the group but one I considered my best friend. We are still friends 20 years later!

So, it was about 2nd or 3rd grade, and my other friends were swinging, and the swing set was full. One of the teachers supervising the playground introduced me to a small group of girls, and they were building a "campfire" with pine needles. One of them was my current best friend. And that's it.

First grade. Walked into the class on the first day of school (I’d missed orientation) and we briefly were acquainted. It wasn’t until like late fourth grade that we started becoming friends and by fifth we were inseparable. Came out to one another not less than a year ago (I won’t list her sexuality for privacy reasons), I dated one of our other friends, we broke up in February (still friends tho). Now I have super intense feelings for her and I think I’m in love and I don’t even know if she’s ever liked a girl, much less if she likes me. She’s literally so smart, she’s so funny, and I can’t help felling like this for her.

I know I’ve turned this best friend thingy into a who’s your crush thingy but I can’t help it! I’m a hopeless romantic.

To clarify: I currently am questioning my gender and wouldn’t describe myself as a girl, I just meant that I’m a lesbian and that my brain stopped braining and i just how I typed it when I was typing super quickly.
