Sulfa drugs. Discovered this last year when I was taking sulfa antibiotics. Full body rash. Couldn’t stay awake other than throwing up. Temperature up and down. We thought I’d caught some virus. When my throat started closing up I went to the ER. Other than that, I’m allergic to insect bites and stings pretty badly and I’m allergic to strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and limes. And honey. I discover more things every year.
I’m allergic to only two things:
1 - Dust mites and related mites and lice (pretty common).
2 - Complex animal protein. ie: Red meat (all mammals). A few years ago a vaccine almost killed me, the delivery serum was made with complex animal protein. Took three days for the anaphylaxis to work through. by the time the doctors knew the cause, my protein count was way above fatal levels. How did I survive?
Sulfa drugs or anything with sulfur in it bruises my skin and could possibly kill me, really. Bumblebees make me swell up where they have stung me and give me red streaks up and down my arms and legs. I also am allergic to obnoxious dumbasses.
I am allergic to ibuprofen it gives me epilepsy! I was given one ibuprofen when I was 7-8 and I started getting seizures and foaming at the mouth and memory loss for the time. Scared the sh*t out of my parents. Found out the hard way I was allergic to ibuprofen.
So many things, I haven't narrowed them all down! The ones I know are Eucalyptus, Ti tree, Oranges, Pine trees, Sorbolene cream, Insect repellant, Paracetamol, some grasses (but not sure which, though apparently not the ones in the standard blood test), pollen, honey, xylitol, gluten, soap, some surgical tapes, shellfish, blueberries. Also lactose intolerant and have IBS so can't have high fructose, lots of sugars/sweeteners and other things. Plus most likely allergic to mozzies (though haven't been bitten for years so not certain) and bees, since all my siblings are. Thank goodness for steroid nasal spray!
