Boys, do you really care how a woman looks when choosing a girlfriend? I´m going to middle school soon, and I really want a boyfriend in 7th-8th grade, but no matter how many compliments I get, I always tell myself no guy has ever liked me because I´m too ugly for that.

So, the thing is, at that age (12-13 right?) we boys are basically idiots. And to completely truthful with you, yes a lot of boys will go by looks at that age. Not all, maybe around half. I personally didn't have a 'type' at that age, but I did have a 'standard of beauty' and here's the funny thing, most of the girls I thought were pretty, my friends thought were ugly and vice-versa, with a few in the middle ground. EVERY girl feels the way you do at some point, that they are not pretty enough to be asked out! But here's the secret, so does every guy! Also, quite often he's too scared to ask you out because he thinks you wouldn't like him. Oh, and the law of the universe says the more you want a boyfriend/girlfriend the longer you'll be single, so just enjoy life and if an opportunity comes along (or you feel brave enough to ask sum1), go for it.

I have seen the stereotypical ‘A boy is bullying you to flirt with you’ stuff, is that true? If so, I’m ruined.

From my experience (although for me it was with girls) if they flirt with you (play tag, try to be funny or get your attention often) they are likely attracted to you. If they bully you like "Donkey boi" mentioned they're just an A-hole. Call em out, embarrass them, dust leave but don't stay there and allow them to do that crap to you. You're too valuable to take that crap from somebody.

Boys, what is it like having so many pockets? Also not having huge beauty standards being forced upon you.

Well, lots of pockets are nice and I think it’s stupid that only guys generally get pockets, as they are good to have regardless of gender. As for “beauty standards”, I recommend a documentary called “The Mask We Live In”, as it does a pretty good job of looking at some of those male standards.

To the guys here: Do you really love compliments and such? I really like complimenting people, but I'm always really scared I'll make someone uncomfortable by complimenting "too much" (I made an enemy that way when I was 10). So, opinions on compliments?

Do boys ever become confused about their feelings? Do they ever go through having your emotions basically knotted up into a huge mush that you can't sort through? Are they as emotional as girls, but just are afraid to show it?

It is a societal issue. The truth is, girls mature much sooner than boys. Adolescent boys are just as emotionally confused as the girls are, but are taught to hold in their feelings and tough it out rather than talk about their problems. I am in my 50s so I imagine it is more acceptable for boys to express feelings now, but things may not have changed that much. But you can bet that the hard case tough boy is just as emotionally fragile as the quiet kid who sits by himself that no one seems to notice. They both need support and help dealing with their emotions, but rarely get it and are expected to not be a (insert derogatory slang word for weak male) and just get on with it. Boys don't cry after all.

Ladies, why do you wear skin-tight pants? Is it a comfort thing, a way to gain a guys attention (which, honestly doesn't take much) when in public, because you feel forced to wear what the clothing industry gives you...something else?

Sometimes there for comfort, sometimes it’s to look cute. It really depends on how your feeling and what the setting is.

I can see the comfort thing and wanting to look a certain way, but because leggings outline a woman's body in certain areas they obtain LOTS of looks from people (both good and bad I presume). Ever purposely use this to your advantage to get looks from others? Do women like people "checking them out" when they are wearing things like this?

It's comfortable, it makes you feel more at ease, and it sort of feels like you're more attractive, not noticeably, but it gives me confidence. I also like jeans and shorts and t-shirts though. Depends on my mood.

I don't generally wear skin tight dresses, since they reveal a belly I'm trying hard to conceal XD. If I were thinner, I probably would wear stuff like that just to show off that I can. And it'd probably just be for me, I doubt others care.

Why is it when there is a gay (is that still an appropriate referral term? my apologies if not), couple one of them often talks with a lisp? I have never noticed this with a lesbian couple (although it may happen).

Ladies (or to whom it may concern), why do you not wear bra's in public? I imagine they are not overly comfortable at times so is it a comfort thing? Is it possibly a way you feel you are able to not conform to societies guidelines (although I'm not really sure those even exist any more),? Do you like to see how people react to you? Is there something else I am completely missing...?

I can answer the girl ones! Some females prefer to speak about how they look because they need tips, or they are just interested in the subject. For example, if you really liked art, and you spoke about it a lot, YOU know it’s because it’s a topic you love. I, for one, am on the shopping side! I like seeing new things, and testing them out, or even making fun of the things I would never buy.

I think they easiest way to say why guys like boobs is to say "they have magical powers". Honestly not sure why we like them so much but we do. As far as size, to each their own.

As a girl who doesn't wear makeup, idk. Maybe other girls like feeling safe and protected and concealing their flaws, and the process of putting on make up and feeling nice is supposedly relaxing too. Besides, people like dressing up. Make up is another individual way to do so.

I've already asked one, but this question came to me later. I'm always afraid to talk to boys about things I'm going through, but should I be so scared? Girls just seem easier to talk to, but sometimes I feel like I might need an opinion from someone less empathetic. (I'm not saying guys can't be empathetic, I just think it's more common for girls to be able to understand what someone's going through.)

I think that while both genders are equally intelligent and empathetic as a whole, their brains still form different ways (different hormone ratios, etc) and girls can bond easier in that way with other girls than they can with boys and vise versa.
