Hey pandas. I’ve been having a pretty rough week or so. I was wondering if any of you had any advice on how to cheer up a bit? Thanks, y’all!

1. Try to understand why you are feeling that way

2. Breakdown the reasoning behind why you feel that way, what got you to this point/situation

3. Make a plan to address the issue or feelings

4. If you feel like you can't do the above, speak to someone about it

5. Keep busy and active, dwelling on things too long is not good


It's important to understand why we feel the way we do, and what triggers these emotions or reactions.

This way we are able to hopefully see the warning signs prior, and know what coping mechanisms to use.

No matter how big or complicated the issue, break it down in to its simplest form.

There is no shame in having these feelings, we all have different levels of tolerance.

Unfortunately when feeling in this state of mind, it triggers us to remember other times we felt this way.

Speaking about things to the right people does help.


Keep your head up high, keep dreaming and never give up.

    Take a walk out in nature by yourself. Sit quietly and take in the sights and sounds.Tell the forest (beach, trail, fields, etc) about your week and then let go of it. It is in the past and is gone.

    Remind yourself that you are not alone and and that there are others who will happily listen.Many times just verbalizing what made the week rough is the beginning of letting it go.
    .
    Look at your week and what made it rough. Were there any lessons to be learned? Has the experience led to any new insights or positive moments, people or opportunities?

    I agree with what Nancy Walker said, 100 percent.

    As for my own piece of advice... My years of experience taught me that you don't really have to try to stop that feeling. If it's too hard and you need a break, do what Nancy suggested, but if you think you feel comfortable enough with the emotion, I suggest you should just let yourself feel it all the way through. Things might get worse if you just keep trying to shove your emotions down, and people often want to escape negative feelings without ever facing them. Be easy on yourself, but don't forget that there's probably a reason why you feel so down recently, and actually letting yourself feel it might give you a clue what that thing is. It might sound anti-intuitive, but bad emotions often stop once you've actually felt them through.

    Therapist here. One of the first things I remind my clients (and myself!) is that you don't have to believe everything you think. If you find yourself saying statements like "I'll never be good enough" or "Things will never get better" - remind yourself that those are not facts. Step back and ask yourself, where are these thoughts coming from, and what evidence is there to disprove them?

    My "advice" only works temporarily.
    Though... Since I don't now what the problems are, this may or may not work.

    Usually, whenever I feel down; (Very Often)
    I just do something to forget about it.
    YouTube, Tetris, Pet Cats, Go Jogging.

    Whatever in your life that you enjoy the most is what I would do to forget about your problems.

    You could also just think about what happened and find a way to accept it.
    This is the most difficult way, but it helps in the long run.

    Listening to some music is always great for me! It’s like therapy but cheaper haha. I agree with the person who said taking a walk in nature too, sometimes just seeing a little bird flitting through the trees can make my day a whole lot better. And do something you love! If that’s reading, then read. If that’s playing video games, then play video games! If it’s exercise… dang that’s weird haha (jk) but ok, you do you.
