Background: I married my husband Todd six years ago. We have a seven-year-old daughter named Caroline and are taking care of his nieces, Bridget and Clara who are four and two, but no other children as I have health issues I need to prioritize. I’m a CEO, I make anywhere between 5 and 7 million depending on the year. My husband is a firefighter and only makes 70k a year.
Here’s the thing. My husband loves his job but it has weird hours and he doesn’t do many chores. Our house is always dirty, Caroline is struggling with several subjects because we are always working and I often get stuck with Caroline, Bridget and Clara in my office.
The other day, we were talking and I suggested he quit his job for the girls. He exploded on me and called me a controlling b****h. He apologized the next day but refused to quit his job and do more chores. So, AITA?

If you earn so much money, why not hire proper, trained childcare? He may just love his job?
Yeah, you are. Talking about how much money you make compared to him. Puttin his bidness out there like that.
Maybe instead of having him quit his job, maybe a switch of hours would work better. Telling him to quit his job he loves doesn’t make either of you worse than the other.
