I lived in Japan for 17 years, and I can't stand when people say "carry-okie." It's karaoke as in car-ah-o-kay. "Kara" is Japanese for "empty" and "oke" is a shortened English word; orchestra.
Along the same lines, hibachi is a noun, not a verb or a cooking method. It's a small, usually cast iron grilling stove used with wood or charcoal. Benihana isn't "hibachi," it's teppanyaki. And you won't find any chefs that flip shrimps in the air and make onion volcanoes at a teppanyaki restaurant in Japan.
Oops, one more. Yakitori is literally "grilled chicken." There's no such thing as beef yakitori!
