Some people just don't know. Especially if you have Asperger's Syndrome. Then they say some crud, and look stupid.

I told a friend that I'm disabled, that I have Asperger's Syndrome. They were like "It's not catching, is it?" Literally stopped in my tracks at how ignorant they were. Like no offence or anything, but what? Fortunately, I have very good teachers, parents and friends, so these incidents are few and far between.

Since i was in nursery from age 4 teachers shouted at me and constantly told me i was stupid and an idiot. The head teacher was a creepy weird old guy, he took out a penknife and told me he would cut off my legs which i BELIEVED and so did all the other kids we all started crying, we were only 4!!!! 😭 i really struggled to talk when i was little and got frustrated and had meltdowns, spent most of my time hiding under tables and chairs, the teacher rewarded other children for ignoring me ☹️ Teachers knew i had autism/aspergers & adhd i was diagnosed very young but it didnt stop them punishing me for ‘acting weird’ and ‘acting stupid’ and yelling at me until i just used to shut down completely. Its hard to explain but i have no memory of what happens when i shut down its like blacking out. One teacher really really loved making me cry and even pinned me against a wall because i didnt talk and didnt tell my parents , i guess it made her feel powerful? Also the mum of one of the kids in school wouldnt let the kid play with me in case they caught autism 😕

“ you’re not autistic because I ( who was not a health professional but an ignorant mean girl ) would not diagnose you as autistic”
