I honestly didn’t realize how bad racism really was until I started dating a black guy.
Anytime he goes really anywhere, he comes home upset.
Every single trip to Walmart, he gets called racial slurs by old white people.
Some road rage people have called him slurs.
Anytime we go out anywhere, cops just sit and stare at us.
When he hangs out with his other black friends, cops pull them over for no reason because “I’m sure I’ll find something illegal in here”, which they never do.
He’s even had cops follow him home when he would walk from a very close by restaurant because they were so sure he was doing something wrong.
People in his new neighborhood have called the police on him for “following them” when he was just headed to his house because, in their words, “someone like you could never afford to live in an area like this.”
When I told my dad we were dating, the first and only thing he said was “you better not have any black babies”; I was told my whole life to never date a black man.
It pisses me off because he literally does nothing wrong, he’s just minding his business. He’s a well-educated polite man. He, nor anyone, deserves that type of treatment.
Fee you. Though we aren’t dating, everyone says we are and makes fun of him for having a white girl Hope this gives you strength to know you’re not alone
Being called F***t
in highschool
As a freshman
My most shocking experience so far was when I tried to ask the social help services in Belgium for advice and help due to my disabilities. I knew how xebophobia was huge in the country and experienced it many times but this I will never forget.
I went to the office and explained the woman about my illneses and how i got to a point where I could not work anymore. I asked her for help navigating their system. Not only economical help, but also legal advice, support groups and guidance in general.
She calmly told me that if i complained again she would take away my ID and deport me from the country (which she can't do). I complained to her superiors by email, they didnt read my email, just forwarded it to her it to her. She repeated again her threats (I have then in paper now). I complained again to the office but they ignored me.
So yes. You can get away in Belgium with threatening disabled migrants with deportation if you work at the social system office ment to help people.
So I'm like 4'10 in highschool. I get told that the middle school is that way. People are d**k's
Lmaooooooooooooo
Where to start? I’m trans and bi, so... there’s that (f**k Alabama for trying to make it so trans youth can’t get gender-affirming care)
Also my dads favorite line is “you don’t deserve respect cause you’re a child”
Um
I’m AFAB and don’t pass as a guy so basic “girls are weaker than guys” b******t
I wore a pride flag around my shoulders to school and people were mocking me for it “oh can I take a picture? I’m a HUUUGEEE supporter!!” from people I’d personally heard homophobic c**p from
Lots more
I was a foster kid for a bit (adopted now) so no one wanted to deal with me
Arts week at my school. I'm wearing a bi pride pin that I made myself at a DIY pin stand. Kids in my seventh period class are THOSE kids. Moan in class and the halls, say slurs, make discriminary gay jokes, you name it. I'm just trying to do my class work and am talking to my friend next to me when suddenly the person to the other side of me starts getting ALL up in our business. Neither of us like him.
He points out my pin and asks what it means in the most obnoxious way ever. I calmly tell him it doesn't matter since I really didn't feel like dealing with his b******t. He continues to press me and I finally snap, urging him to to mind his own business.
He then turns to his computer and googles what the colors mean. I get really upset, telling him that he needs to learn how to mind his own business and leave me alone. This makes him laugh and he turns to his friends and starts mocking me. He even says some things to my face, like "so you'd kiss a girl? That's weird" and "what about your boyfriend?" This continued for the whole class period.
This one's not really mine. It's about my dad I don't know the full details but basicaly he had this friend with a job recommendation. My dad, (who was looking for a job) decided to apply for a interview. He had a perfectly clean and well made resume and studied three things at university. Well, the didn't give him the job. Turns out that they didn't have enough women in the company. And thats how they left him in bankrupcy with nothing but a measly appartment and a four month baby(me).
I really hope people learn that sexism is two sided no matter what
My friend (who is black) being given a you can’t get server out in four square and me being told to stop standing up for him then he being made fun of for having a crush on a white girl (me) so after that we left
Sounds stupid but makes my blood boil still
I went for a job interview in a tiny office. But I was told I didn't get the job because I'm a man and would be working in close proximity to women. I successfully took action for sex discrimination. The company closed after it. Was offended, hurt and disgusted. What type of person makes an assumption like that?
