Despite Herbee being a teeny-tiny hedgehog and Audree being a cat, the two have become inseparable. Talitha takes pictures of them against stunning backdrops as they all go on adorable adventures together. Not going to lie, their photos make me want to pack a suitcase and travel the world just like them (after the lockdown ends, of course).
“A few months after I adopted Herbee from a girl who couldn’t keep him due to severe allergic reactions, I adopted Audree. She was three months old when I got her and she was originally already reserved for someone who wanted to breed with her. But the lady canceled on her two days before I called,” Talitha told us.
They're adorable! Also, I need to visit the place they took this picture, the scenery is great.
this is so sweet <3 i would watch those cuties every day of quarantine
“It has been my dream for so many years to have a cat and Bengals get along well with other pets. I wanted a special cat that would go on adventures and travel with me, so there wasn’t much choice on the breed. And then one night I had a dream that I had a Bengal cat that I took on adventures and we became the best friends ever,” she said.
“When I woke up and realized it was only a dream, I became sad. But a few moments later I realized that this dream wasn’t something that couldn’t turn into reality. And so I started to Google. The first cat I found was Audree and I saw her and knew it. When I called the lady she told me the story and I felt like it was meant to be. Audree has 3 brothers while I have 2 brothers. They always played like crazy and she would be right there next to them being a bit shy and just watching. Just like me as a child.”
Talitha said that she took Herbee with her when she went to visit Audree once before making the final decision. “They immediately became friends! Now they’re inseparable! Wherever Herbee goes, Audree goes. She lays down on spots where he was, they sometimes even snuggle and play together. Audree is now almost one year old!
According to Talitha, when Herbee and Audree first met, they were curious and the hedgehog didn’t put up his quills and wasn’t scared of the cat. Meanwhile, Audree was very cautious.
“They eat together at night, sometimes from the same bowl. Audree likes Herbee’s food better than her own even though they eat the same food (except for Herbee’s insects). Audree is allowed in Herbee’s cage and sleeps there sometimes or just watches him. Herbee bit Audree once and she wasn’t hurt but meowed and left—it never happened again.”
Talitha revealed to Bored Panda that it’s become more difficult to take photos outside because of the quarantine. “Of course, we can go on walks and take spring photos, but we are in the middle of nowhere staying on a family farm at the moment and it’s only just starting to bloom outside. Of course, we can’t travel, but I think it also has a good side. It makes me appreciate going on adventures with them even more!”
Herbee and Audree’s owner says that the quarantine has taken them all back to their roots, given them more time to spend with their family, and helped them appreciate the little things. “Like a ladybug sitting on Audree’s head or Herbee smelling a little flower,” she pointed out.
You go after it and I’ll cover you! I’m behind you, all the way.
“It’s not about traveling further and further anymore, it’s about feeling happy where you are. It’s a great lesson! And it’s great to see and share the positive in this. I get a lot of feedback from our community that they appreciate our photos even more now. It’s just something small that makes them happy—and it makes me happy to read these messages.”
i need to know the sorcery what made cat sit calmly with something on her head
Talitha started posting pictures of animals back in 2015 when she got her hedgehog Pokee who was just 8 weeks old at the time. That’s why all of her social media accounts are named after Pokee, the original hedgehoggo.
Sadly, Pokee passed away and went to hedgehog heaven in 2019. But Herbee took up his mantle, filled his shoes, and keeps bringing smiles to our faces! Owner Talitha even got a tattoo on her wrist to honor Pokee’s memory. Though Herbee’s not related to his predecessor, he seems to share the same love for posing and modeling as his senior.
“Amazing people from all over the world are inspired to follow our adventures especially because they love our message,” Talitha writes on her webpage. “Between all the serious things happening in the world every day, Pokee and now also Herbee and Audree are here to give you a reason to be happy and smile. Whenever you return to our page, we want to remind you to never lose faith and always follow your heart.”
A heartwarming message and something to keep in mind, especially with everything going on in 2020.
Audree’s all slinky comfy, and Herbee’s all roly-poly comfy.
A hedgehog is a nocturnal animal. That looks cute, but is in no way animal-friendly !! Please don't support something like that!
I don't want to be that one moody pessimistic dude, but im gunna be. I hate pages like this, they're so staged and portray everything in such a lovely perfect light, it's so twee. Sure its cute and the cat's a gorgeous one but come on. There's also a lot of photoshop going on here, and not just manipulation its full blown moving objects around - this is the type of s**t that's wrong with instagram imo, people putting stuff like this up and others being naive enough to think it's a true portrayal of life.
the pics are amazing, but the cat does not look amused in much pics. the cat has big eyes and looks frightened .. and i dont think a hedgehog should be placed in a cup .. sorry, but they make the pics only for views and fame.
These two are so cute!! And you take amazing pictures! Looks like they're a happy and healthy pair, and your love for them shines through. I'm sure you know this, but in case someone out there doesn't: "Most hedgehogs instinctively don't like being belly-up - they're prey animals, and it's a very exposed position to be in, especially for an animal that defends itself with quills located on its back."
They are so adorable 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 I love them!! Beautiful cat.
They are adorable af, what a cute friendship.❤️❤️Love it. ❤️🖤❤️🖤
Hedgehogs are WILD ANIMALS they are not pets. In most European countries, it's forbidden to buy or take a hedgehog in nature home 🏡. One must respect all wildlife, it's cruel, selfish and very much childish to want to possess them
Cat looks pissed off and hedgehog looks seriously sleep deprived.
Cute pics...but does anyone else think that some of these are photoshopped. The lighting is different in some of them and the backgrounds look "applied."
It's cool that these two have bonded while the kitten is still young. Being a wild hybrid, I'd worry about them being alone together if they weren't introduced early. I have really mixed feelings seeing so many insta-bengels these days. They are a very challenging breed because of their wild instincts, far too many end up in special sanctuary shelters because they grow up and people weren't prepared for them. Please everyone, do your research before buying a hybrid like this!
They are adorable! I wish I could have a cat. ::sigh:: Anyway. Aside from the obvious photo in Paris, are these other photos taken in Germany? I already wanted to go to Berlin (before the current emergency, of course), and now I'd love a week's retreat at a pretty lakeside inn in the mountains like in #3 when it's OK to travel again.
I, for one, find them beautiful! I wonndered if tbey were paintings. Whatever they are, keep doing them! (And, Yes! a calendar is a Wonderful idea.)
I loved the photos! I lived in Greece where hedgehogs roam the countryside, they arent as sorted out with their attitudes, and smell of urine. Mostly petrified of humans and find the middle of the road a nice place to sit (where Greeks and tourists alike run them over to my horror). Poor things. The Greek people were mystified when I told them people in the US have them as pets.
I think it's unlikely that the pets were harmed In the picture taking. I think the cat looks surprised and possibly less than thrilled in some of them, but there are no wounds on either animal. Of course, we can't see the owner's hands & wrists in all the pictures.
Bangal is very gorgeous. I have one myself, a marble coating. Love the way your hedgehog smiles, lol. Pics are cool looking, whether or not they are photo edited.
LOVE THIS CONTENT (one comment: the photoshop/editing is a bit over the top). Keep it coming!!!
Why can't people just enjoy the pictures for what they are? Absolutely adorable! Although the cat does look like he got poked in the butt a couple of times! lol
Hey Joe....you hate these pages? Then why come here and spoil it for others? Just go away. I've raised hedgehogs and they are as friendly as you make them. Until you actually deal with an animal, keep your uneducated opinions to yourself rather than open your piehole and prove to the world how stupid and uninformed you really are.
