7 Powerful Harry Potter Scenes That Did Not Make It To The Movies Finally Come To Life Thanks To This Illustrator
People say that the book is always better than the movie. Mostly because the movie leaves things out. To help Potterheads visually revisit their favorite moments from the series, artist Katie Knudson from Orlando, Florida, is drawing Harry Potter movie scenes that didn’t make the films, and probably even J.K. Rowling would be happy to see them.
“My mom read Harry Potter books to me as I grew up,” Katie told Bored Panda. “Even the last one which came out when I was in high school. It formed an exceptional bond between the two of us!”
Katie came up with the idea for her fanart project when someone reminded her of the scene where Luna randomly walks up to Harry and proclaims her support for him. “I just thought it was a great scene and I felt inspired to draw it really quickly. It was so well received that I realized I wasn’t the only one who missed these forgotten and deleted scenes, so I just kept finding them and drawing them!” The artist always tries to cover the famous movie scenes that are important character moments. “Anything emotional or formative for a character, like the state of Neville’s parents. It makes me sad when that kind of character development is forgotten.”
“It can take anywhere from 10-20 hours to go from planning and sketching the scene, all the way to releasing it online,” Katie said. “I try to spend as much time as possible making them accurate to the text as I can.” Continue scrolling and enjoy this compilation of wonderful Harry Potter fanart. And if you really like them, you can support Knudson on Patreon.

Share on FacebookA Harry Potter comics never fail to make my day! I was wondering (*stares with puppy eyes) if you would make a second part?
YAY! Love this artist for making the scenes we looked foreward to, but never got to see.
Load More Replies...umm... is it just me or are harry and heormine black? Im not making a racist comment, i just thought something was... different
This is an artist interpretation since the books never actually mentioned Harry's or Hermione's skin colors. J.K. Rowling purposefully left out those descriptive details so kids could easily relate to the characters.
Load More Replies...I'm so happy someone did the Neville and his mum moment, it was one of the most heartbreaking moments of the books
Sorry, which one was it in? I don’t remember reading about that
Load More Replies...I originally thought of Harry and Hermionie being white because they come from Europe or the UK. But I kind of like the creative interpretation.
Well even if their linege was open to interpretation, it was pretty much hinted that they r white, not even brown. Because Harry was described as having green eyes, which r pretty rare in a black person. And Hermione she had light brown hair with bushy puffed up hair, which is not exactly used to describe black people's hair. I never thought for once while reading the books that the three could be black. U know it never did strike. Nd no I m not being racist.
Load More Replies...This is too cute!!! I love this one SO MUCH!! Please, please, PLEASE make a second part!! I'm so happy!
...Adorable! And I really like the art. Can they ask the artist to do a comicbook for the series?
There is one called obliviate with the moments they "forgot" in the movie there are a lot of other moments drawed by the artist. Google it
Load More Replies...You can see the tears in Malfoy's eyes after he got slapped. Draco's crush on Hermione confirmed!
Don't worry, eventually, I felt the same.
Load More Replies...What about about hermiones elf orginazation? That was sooooo glossed over int he movies
you forgot the one about minerva telling peeves to reign hell on all intruders
They should have include St. Mungo's Hospital in the film. There are a lot of things going on in there.
I have no idea why these parts of the books didn't make it into the movies. These are some of the best parts of the books that made me laugh and get a better understanding of the connection between Harry and his friends and favorite teachers. Plus, anytime Draco gets hurt is GOLD.
2 if these were in part in the movies i do believe. but they look great none the less
Why is Hermione black? I m not being racist. But in the books she has brown, voluminous hair. Nd they used Emma Watson in movies, so it's just very odd.
I think she's half black. The brown frizzy hair would make sense then because most black people naturally have black hair and I don't see Hermione dying her hair.
Load More Replies...Oh please do the whole series <3 I would buy every single book. These are fantastic!
Potter's story is one the most kind story ever and you chose the best moments to draw, I really like it. These drawings remind me of my childhood, thanks honey!
OK. These were amazing. But, I have an issue. The comments saying that Harry and Hermione aren't black. But what difference does it make? Skin color was never really specified. Ok, maybe once in GoF, but "white face" can mean fear or a state of total shock. But skin color doesn't matter. They are still heroes. They will always be heroes. People can have imaginations and vision them how they want. Sure, Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe were white. But J. K. Rowling didn't direct the movies. So stop hating on the comics. They were amazing and well drawn!
Which book has the one with the kiss?? I feel a sudden urge to read them again...
So here's how J K Rowling imagined Neville, Ron, Harry, Hermione and Dean Thomas (at that time he still had the name Gary) whose skin looks darker. Hermione-5...840e69.jpg
Cute, I think this should be a daily comic on BoredPanda!!
I love love love them. They are the best thing that ever happened to me today.
I LOVED THE LAST ONE HEART IS SCREAMING!!! I've always hated the way the movies did it. They completly erased the true meaning behind the kiss! The entire point was that Hermionie liked the fact that Ron actually cared abot the house elves! My inner Potterhead has always heald a grudge on Hollywood for totally trashng the books.
I can’t upload a Picture, but in book 3, chapter 21, there is a line that clearly states “Hermiones white face was sticking out from behind a tree.” If you don’t believe me go look.
and some people interpret that as just a figure of speech, like 'white as a ghost' because she was scared
Load More Replies...*sicem* "Sure she never explicitly said it, but her sketches depicted a Hermione back in the day." It says as well that she was pale-faced, and only in one time in one book before have I ever seen a dark-skinned character be pale faced...and her skin was flaking off. Because she was a ghoul or something. And again, what I said about Harry being clearly described as pale. I don't see a reason - can't we just be happy with great black characters like Dean, Angelina, Lee Jordan, Kingsley, etc?
I mean I don't know why tf Hermione and Harry are black but I still love it
ok, this art is amazing, and I know Hermione had bushy hair, but that's a bit extreme.
OMG REMAKE THE MOVIES AND PUT THESE PARTS IN!! THESE ARE LIKE, SUPER IMPORTANT THINGS IN THE STORY!!!
I love how after Harry and Ginny break apart, Harry’s face is just: “Oh, s**t.” But Ginny’s is a fairly obvious “Try me, b***h.” Both directed at Ron.
This made me cry like a baby, Harry potter will always hold a tender place in my heart, I read them to my kids now😍
LOL the last one was funny when Harry went OI! THERE´S A WAR GOIN´ ON!!! XD
Definitely a second part with the scene after the battle in the Ministry of Magic when Harry has the picture of Lupin and says his name out loud

These are great, and I like the art. Like other have already said though, Harry and Hermione are white. Just take a look at the book covers... ONi3Uou.jpg
she also had to approve the actors/actresses who were in the Cursed Child play, just because the author gives the okay for something, doesn't mean that is what fits their vision.
Load More Replies...LOVE IT! :) I'm 28, and still read the books and watch the movies. Started reading the series again from the start (for like... the 15th time..) and just 10 minutes before I read this article on BP I finished reading Chamber of Secrets. Onward with the third book ->
I never got to see the elves in the Battle of Hogwarts. It would have been pretty badass with Kreacher leading them.
These are the best things that happened to humanity everrrrrrr, *hugs LifeSize cutout of Harry, Ron and Hermione*
OMG, these literally made me tear up. I think I'm due for (another) re-read!
