7 Powerful Harry Potter Scenes That Did Not Make It To The Movies Finally Come To Life Thanks To This Illustrator
People say that the book is always better than the movie. Mostly because the movie leaves things out. To help Potterheads visually revisit their favorite moments from the series, artist Katie Knudson from Orlando, Florida, is drawing Harry Potter movie scenes that didn’t make the films, and probably even J.K. Rowling would be happy to see them.
“My mom read Harry Potter books to me as I grew up,” Katie told Bored Panda. “Even the last one which came out when I was in high school. It formed an exceptional bond between the two of us!”
Katie came up with the idea for her fanart project when someone reminded her of the scene where Luna randomly walks up to Harry and proclaims her support for him. “I just thought it was a great scene and I felt inspired to draw it really quickly. It was so well received that I realized I wasn’t the only one who missed these forgotten and deleted scenes, so I just kept finding them and drawing them!” The artist always tries to cover the famous movie scenes that are important character moments. “Anything emotional or formative for a character, like the state of Neville’s parents. It makes me sad when that kind of character development is forgotten.”
“It can take anywhere from 10-20 hours to go from planning and sketching the scene, all the way to releasing it online,” Katie said. “I try to spend as much time as possible making them accurate to the text as I can.” Continue scrolling and enjoy this compilation of wonderful Harry Potter fanart. This is an artist interpretation since the books never actually mentioned Harry's or Hermione's skin colors. J.K. Rowling purposefully left out those descriptive details so kids could easily relate to the characters.
