If 2020 has taught us anything, it’s that perseverance requires huge amounts of inner strength. So to teach everyone how they can “stock up” on the supplies needed for it, wellness page Sumbu has released a guide on “happy chemicals” and ways to activate them.

Eventually, it made its way onto Twitter, where people started sharing it like crazy. For example, after one person made a post about the guide, it has received over 430K likes.

If you need a refill of dopamine, oxytocin, endorphin, and serotonin as well—or have no idea what these words mean and just want to find out what all the fuss is about—continue scrolling and check out the pictures yourself!

To learn more about what went into producing this guide, Bored Panda contacted the founder of Sumbu, Riz Romauli. “Sumbu first started as a platform to allow people to explore and understand more about the environment and to raise awareness of its protection. It quickly turned into a brand revolving around the lifestyle of sustainability, optimism, positivity, and mindfulness,” Romauli said. “In fact, the very word ‘sumbu’ comes from ‘sumbu bumi’, which means Earth’s axis in Indonesian. That’s how we want to save the world; from pole to pole.”

Realizing the importance of wellness, Sumbu pays much attention to the process of making conscious choices toward a healthy and fulfilling life. “If health means a state of being, wellness is the state of living a healthy lifestyle.” And the “happy chemicals” are part of this system.

“There’s no quick fix in wellness. It’s not something that just happens in a day, month, or even a year. We want to help people by reminding them to incorporate daily healthy habits and how good it is to stick to them. Wellness should be personal and an active journey. We want people to try new approaches as they like. As they continue to try new things, they’ll find what sparks them and that’s how it can be sustainable for them.”

So many people try to “hack” wellness artificially but Romauli thinks it’s much more sustainable when it comes from within. “It’s not something that ‘happens’ in a day, a month, or even a year. We want to remind people to incorporate daily healthy habits and how good it is to stick to them. Wellness should be personal and an active journey. We want people to try new approaches. As they continue to try new things, they’ll find what sparks them and that’s how it can be sustainable for them.”

“The products that we sell are mostly to promote more environmental sustainability (upcycled bags, organic vegan soaps, organic vegan shampoo bars), however, we are planning to launch more wellness products in the future, promoting conscious living and allowing people to take care of their homes—the Earth and their own body.”

After 2020, it looks like people are really interested in “hacking” happiness
