Two guys, Ricky Rogers and his friend, posted a photo of themselves ‘surfing’ on top of a turtle on a beach in Australia – and immediately regretted it. The picture with a caption that read “Surfed a tortoise on zee weekend.. gnarly duddddeeeee”, invoked outrage and anger, especially after being re-posted by the wildlife photographer Matt Wright.

It is being investigated whether the tortoise was already dead at the time the picture was taken. The infamous guys posted another picture with a dead turtle that shows they wrote RIP next to it. Whether it’s the same turtle or not, this kind of cruelty against animals is not acceptable – and now the two ‘complete idiots’ could be facing a fine of up to Michael Beatty each.
