Fox News Forgets That Movies Aren’t Real Life, Gets Hilariously Roasted By The Internet
The greatest actors are the ones who give the most believable performances, but even in these instances, viewers are able to separate the character from the person – well not all viewers.
This week Fox News got mercilessly mocked en mass across the internet for an article they published titled: “Jamie Lee Curtis wields firearms in new ‘Halloween’ movie despite advocating for gun control.” In the piece, the author seemed to have missed the concept of acting – to play a fictional role. “On-screen actions stand in contrast to her real-life persona – one of several Hollywood actors who use firearms in their films while preaching against them away from the set,” they wrote.
In the new ‘Halloween’ film franchise reboot Curtis plays the iconic Laurie Strode and uses a gun against a murderous villain (don’t worry the chances of this happening to you at home are slim). Well, it didn’t take long for Tweets and comments to roll in explaining to the outlet how character acting worked, even sharing comparisons from other movies. Scroll down below to see some of the hilarious responses.
As a Halloween treat, Jamie Lee Curtis will be playing Laurie Strode in the new ‘Halloween’ franchise movie reboot
But Fox News was quick to point out something that everyone else had failed to notice
The internet, however, was kind enough to remind Fox the difference between characters and people

Slightly off the topic but why do Americans think nobody can have a gun at all when they hear the phrase 'gun control'.
Wouldn't it be a lot better if nobody had a gun at all? Many countries have millions of people living in them without guns.
Load More Replies...ThatJeremyKid - Dilly isn't saying it would be easy. That's because there are so many people who think like you - that you are safer with your gun when you aren't. That's a fallacy. Bearing arms as a 'right' was suitable for the day and age when that 'right' was created. America would be a damn sight safer if it wasn't full of people thinking their 'rights' mattered more than lives. Gun trends study? School shootings aren't enough for you?
Guns used more to defend than to commit a crime, if true (stuff FBI Stats) is still a gun being used during a crime. Sure you'll be able to hold on to that gun? Or not shoot the wrong person? I would still rather criminals didn't have the increased likelihood of having a gun. People make mistakes and have shot their own family member thinking they were a burglar. Children get hold of their parent's guns and shoot themselves or a sibling - so many reasons why they are a bad idea and yet people think it's the only way to defend themselves. Not see that shop that sold guns with their history attached? Other countries manage and have far less violent crime!!!
I thought that as well Suzi but countries recover from decades of devastating war. This is difficult but not impossible. You have to go for zero tolerance on use of guns without a bloody good reason and work your way through it starting with known guns. It takes time and commitment. The problem with America is that there is a lack of desire to solve what is a very serious problem - it isn't even seen by many as a serious problem. That is what prevents it from happening - not the impossibility.
FFS taking someone's life is the biggest violation there is and yet you quibble about the right to own a dangerous weapon? What the f**k do you want it for? Just because it's some ancient, tacked-on right? Having a legal right doesn't make it a moral right.

That ship has sailed. Too many guns out there now, legal & illegal.

Well, we aren't one of those countries. Gun control is great but actually banning guns would be a blatant rights violation.

That is ridiculous and naive thinking to just hope that EVERYONE will get rid of their firearms. If those of us who legally obtained ours (which by the way, in my state background checks are done as well as notifications to the local police department with our name and information so they know we have purchased the weapon along with whatever paperwork we have completed for concealed carry) would give up our weapons but criminals would not. I'm sorry but I don't feel comfortable disarming myself in a country full of thugs with firearms. And you shouldn't either. Bearing arms is a right. That being said, we should be allowed to scientifically study firearm trends and to make gun laws based on those trends.

The problem isn't guns. The problem is morality and criminal activity (both pushed by the left to degrade even further). Guns are used far, far, far more often to defend citizens from criminals than by criminals to commit crimes. Don't think so? Check the FBI stats for proof.
Grew up on a farm - no-one needed a gun. These are just excuses to justify owning a gun, not good reasons. Wanting to do those things is archaic and pathetic. People employed in a particular job may need a gun but that should be licensed to the hilt.

Hunting, recreational shooting, living on a farm. There are plenty of good reasons to own a gun.

It's very easy actually. Evil men and governments exist and guns equal the playing field and give good men a way to fight back against them both. Self-defense is a RIGHT, a God given one to boot. It's always very telling that it's always the left that wants to strip rights while promoting socialist, Marxist and communist for leaders. You won't be taking our arms nor our rights.
Yeah! I was in the US on holiday (from the UK) and 'they all' thought that we weren't allowed guns, like at all. (We can have rifles and shotguns). Incredibly proud of the UK after they banned handguns in response to the Dunblane massacre.
Molon - Thanks for the mega large post that proves a lot of people want to ban guns. Strange that. Amendments ARE changes that were made to the constitution, by the way. CHANGES. Proved they happened, should happen, do happen. It's happening all the time when decisions are made that alter what the 2nd amendment means. You say "You, nor they have a right or authority to interfere in a right that expressly says "shall not be infringed" which means literally not to interfere in, limit or restrict." yet it has been interfered with. The last change broadened the meaning but only so that it matched what Americans thought they had. It will change again.

Conservatives are angry because the policies that are being proposed are policies that will only slightly stop gun crimes or even not at all. Only a small portion of conservatives think that they won't be able to have any guns. I am not a conservative and i think that the policies proposed wont work, when someone comes up with something new that has a better chance I'm all for it.
Anyone wanting a gun has mental health issues - you don't need bloody guns! Honestly America is so archaic.
Hi Randy - I have no problem with guns at a shooting range. As long as people leave them there when they go home. Though I personally cannot see the attraction in any way whatsoever. People definitely shouldn't have a gun because they want a gun. If there is a problem with where to draw the line on gun ownership, and so many innocent people are being killed, why on earth would anyone not want to ban the flipping things?
Just curious, but what policies are you refering to and why wouldn't they work. Keeping guns away from people with mental health issues, a waiting period to prevent spur-of-the-moment buys and registering your gun seem like easy and effective policies to me.
@Carrie de Luka I wouldn't go quite so far. I've shot guns at a shooting range and quite enjoyed it. Just not enough to go through the hassle to get a license and own a gun in my country. I can understand why people who enjoy it more than me would want to own their own gun. There is, however, a very important distinction between wanting and needing.

Because that what your leftist leaders have said over and over. Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) - 1995 - 60 Minutes Interview "If I could have gotten 51 votes in the Senate of the United States for an outright ban, picking up every one of them....Mr. and Mrs. America, turn them all in. I would have done it. I could not do that. The votes weren't here." Jan Schakowsky, U.S. Representative from Illinois “I believe…..this is my final word……I believe that I’m supporting the Constitution of the United States which does not give the right for any individual to own a handgun….” Dianne Feinstein, U.S. Senator from California (continued) “Banning guns addresses a fundamental right of all Americans to feel safe.” “The National Guard fulfills the militia mentioned in the Second amendment. Citizens no longer need to protect the states or themselves.” Frank Lautenberg, U.S. Senator from New Jersey “We have other legislation that all of you are aware that I have been so active on, with my colleagues here, and that is to shut down the gun shows.” Howard Metzenbaum, former U.S. Senator “No, we’re not looking at how to control criminals … we’re talking about banning the AK-47 and semi-automatic guns.” Charles Pashayan, U.S. Representative from California “All of this has to be understood as part of a process leading ultimately to a treaty that will give an international body power over our domestic laws.” Pete Stark, U.S. Representative from California “If a bill to ban handguns came to the house floor, I would vote for it.” William Clay, U.S. Representative from Missouri ” …we need much stricter gun control, and eventually should bar the ownership of handguns” Joseph Biden, Vice President of the United States “Banning guns is an idea whose time has come.” John Chafee, Former U.S. Senator from Rhode Island “I shortly will introduce legislation banning the sale, manufacture or possession of handguns (with exceptions for law enforcement and licensed target clubs)… . It is time to act. We cannot go on like this. Ban them!” Major Owens, U.S. Representative from New York “We have to start with a ban on the manufacturing and import of handguns. From there we register the guns which are currently owned, and follow that with additional bans and acquisitions of handguns and rifles with no sporting purpose.” Bobby Rush, U.S. Representative from Illinois “My staff and I right now are working on a comprehensive gun-control bill. We don’t have all the details, but for instance, regulating the sale and purchase of bullets. Ultimately, I would like to see the manufacture and possession of handguns banned except for military and police use. But that’s the endgame. And in the meantime, there are some specific things that we can do with legislation.”
