Greeting Cards For People With Mental Health Issues

The nephew of the late Alexander McQueen has teamed with UK card company thortful to create a range of cards that aim to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health. Fashion designer Gary James McQueen has created the card collection in tribute to his uncle with all profits going to mental health charity Chasing the Stigma.

Gary has experienced his own mental health problems in the past which makes this a cause that is very close to his heart.

“Why are we all so reticent & uncommunicative when it comes to mental illness? You’d send a card or a present to someone with a physical illness, so why not someone with a mental illness? During some of my darker days a card from a friend or loved one reaching out to me would have made a difference. It serves as a reminder that someone cares about me and reminds me that someone is there, ready to listen, when I am ready to talk.”

Cards are available to buy on the thortful app or online at thortful.com and cost £2.99 each with all profits going to charity.
