Girl Tired Of Slut-Shaming Meme Shares How Naughty Her Great-Great Grandmother Was Back In 1890
A Tumblr user from Colorado has sent the whole Internet rolling on the floor laughing, and has challenged the message behind a popular meme with a family story that is not to be missed.
Over the last few years, memes have been popping up everywhere that show a photo of a woman seeming to be from the early 1900’s juxtaposed with a modern-day Instagram shot. The captions describe the older photo as ‘pics of your grandma that you find in 2016,’ and the latter as ones you would find 70 years from now. The point, arguably, is to demonstrate that the women of days gone by were more ‘respectable’ than those of us living today because of their supposed modesty, and that kids of the future will be ashamed to see viral photos of their grandmother in nothing but her Calvins.
If this all sounds a little backwards to you, you’re not the only one. Tumblr blogger ‘gallusrostromegalus’ shared the following anecdote about her great-grandmother’s past to prove a much-needed point, so scroll down to read it, and let us know what you think in the comments.

I found the unused Titanic tickets far more interesting than the nude photo finding! Not only they are really worht a fortune now, but it's astonishing how fate can work - a silly disease saved 4 lives from quite imminent death. They must have had the most surprised and thankful look on their faces when they saw the news and knew it could have been them there... *gulp* Quite frightening.

Measles is NOT a "silly disease". Measles kills. It causes neurological damage that can lead to deafness, blindness, and can change a happy toddler into a mental potato. Not vaccinating for measles is child abuse. NEVER forget that.

Just gonna put this out there for some of you to perculate on. Her great-great-grandma may have taken the photos but what do you think the chances are she had them prominently displayed on whatever medium of her day would approximate today's internet like so many are wont to do today? Hard to s**t shame a women whose naughty pics were shared with a loved one and then hidden away from public sight for like a hundred freaking years. Just a subtle difference lots of you are kind of glossing over.

Women haven't really changed over the years, we're a little more free to do as we want now. But neither should be "s**t shamed" as you put it. The girl in the second picture is no more a s**t because she's less covered than the woman in the first. Why should either woman, or the nude sending grandmother, be s**t shamed? I find it interesting that you picked that word. It's not a quote. It's a phrase you chose. If a man wants to wear nothing but briefs, stand in front of a mirror and take a picture (and there are PLENTY of those kinds of male shots).. are you going to talk about s**t shaming then too? No? Why not? Because it's a totally different standard. That's attitude is part of the problem.

My Grandpa had a nude pic of him up on the wall of friends photos around the dining room doorway at his house. It was eye level for children. My mom found my sister & I stuck in front of it, staring, trying to decipher what we were seeing. It was taken only a few years prior and he was already "old" then! lol Apparently his girlfriend put it up there not realizing the kids were coming to visit? haha oops!

Yeah, because it's definitely the same to have some photos enclosed in an envelope and have it online on your own profile, so that it's easy for your future boss to find. It's definitely the same that people did just the same things 100-500-1000 years ago behind closed doors what people do now on the streets. Like when I, that is I, who goes clubbing once every 3 years, saw some teenagers actually doing it on the dancefloor. No, it's not the same, not even close.
