Ansel Adams is one of the best photographers of the 20th century, and now we might know why. Photographer Elliot McGucket has discovered that a lot of Adams' iconic images were composed using the golden ratio, which is believed to be hardwired into the human brain as inherently beautiful.
"Great artists such as Ansel Adams exalted their art with the golden ratio—the very same ratio present in the bones of our fingers and facial features," McGucken told PetaPixel. "Whether Ansel used the golden harmonies consciously or unconsciously may remain a mystery forever." Take a look at the images below and tell us what you think.

Well, he may have used it but that doesn't mean it is any more special than any other ratio. So maybe he liked it and it worked out for him.
I don't get it. I know what the golden ratio is (or at least I thought I did), but I don't really see how it applies in these.
Great Photos. But I could take a picture and certainly find a place where the golden Ratio lines would look like they line up with certain aspects of the photo.
There is absolutely no relation between the photos and those lines. Even if you try to force yourself to believe it, it won't work. Pretentious to the max.
