Artist Spends 3 Years Rewriting The Entire Quran In Gold On 164 Feet Of Silk By Hand

There are a lot of mesmerizing Muslim temples, but this time it’s a lavish Quran that grabbed everybody’s attention. Azerbaijani painter Tünzale Memmedzade spent 3 years meticulously rewriting the sacred book by hand and the result is captivating even if you’re an atheist.

Memmedzade started her project after investigating that, even though the Quran had been transcribed onto various materials, it has never been inked on silk. She took the official version released from the Diyanet, the Turkish Presidency of Religious Affairs, as her source and used a little more than three pints of liquid gold and silver as well as 164 feet of 11.4″ x 13″ sheets of fine silk.

The artist considers this project to be her masterpiece, that also doesn’t violate any religious law because there are silk references in the Quran itself.

That's actually a brilliant idea. Fifty years ago, birth certificates and marriage licenses in the U.S. were so beautiful with scroll work and intricate design. Now, they're just empty stock forms and a huge disappointment as tokens of the most important landmark moments in a family's history.

Since Kyledefrosch has mentioned that quran proclaimed to slaughter all infidels, I would like to ask where exactly has he seen that in Quran. I shouldn't be surprised to know that such people wouldn't even know a thing about Quran and yet talk about it. But I would suggest that such people should speak up in public places and social medias if they have enough evidence regarding Quran because I have read Quran six times and never found any verse of such that you are claiming of. Read the Quran carefully and you will find hundreds of verses saying that not to force anyone to convert and to leave them all who turn away....

Goosebumps. Perhaps the first book in human history to qualify as physically ethereal. The article's comment that "even if you're atheist" you can appreciate this exquisite beauty is a statement void of wisdom, lacks maturity and is absurd to the point of insulting. I'm atheist myself, but I would imagine that Christians, Jews, Buddhists, Zoroastrians, Celtic traditionalists and anyone of any faith or no faith at all would find this artist's work breathtaking.
