This Artist Creates Fantasy Worlds With Futuristic Details And Fantastic Creatures (58 Pics)
Once Tithi Luadthong (grandfailure on Depositphotos), an interior illustrator and artist from Thailand, discovered the potential of digital sketching, at that moment, his world changed forever. With a background in analog graphics and watercolor painting, he had forgotten about brushes, ink, and airbrushes.
Tithi created his first digital futuristic sketches based on random images from the internet: he took as a basis a landscape or an image of an interior and then redrew them, adding elements borrowed from sci-fi and fantasy movies.

Tithi Luadthong works as an interior illustrator and, in his free time, creates conceptual digital artworks inspired by his favorite comics, animation, games, and movies. Among his favorite films are The Matrix, Terminator, Blade Runner, and Mad Max, as well as games like Metal Gear, Badland, and Silent Hill.
Wherever this artist goes, he always carries with him a notebook where he writes down ideas and sketches. Tithi Luadthong brings together interesting interior details from science fiction films, character ideas, and color schemes. And while creating new work, he looks through his notes and drawings and turns to the aesthetics of different fantastic universes at the same time.
Stock image platforms, including Depositphotos, helped Tithi establish himself as a digital artist. There, he first presented his conceptual graphics to a wide audience and... suddenly received a response from users in the form of a large number of purchases. It was like his first exhibition.
Since then, the Thai artist has been regularly adding new artworks to his digital portfolio and says that there is not a single image in it that he is indifferent to.
Tithi Luadthong’s works are often based on his old landscape or interior photos. The artist redraws the landscape or uses it unchanged as a background for his drawing, and then depicts fantastic characters on top of it.
“I didn’t want to copy images from the internet and photography became a way of finding references. When I had a chance to travel, I would always take photographs of the location for sketching,” Tithi told us.
The artist loves to completely rethink the basic photoshoot, turning it into a sci-fi, fantasy, horror, or noir film scene. If an illustration becomes mysterious and a plot appears in it, the author believes that his part of the work is done well.
Detailed backgrounds are another feature of the works by the Thai artist. He strives to not let us take our eyes off his work for a long time, switching from one unusual detail to another.
In addition, outstanding details both in the foreground and the background allow the artist to tell the audience stories of his characters and the fantasy universes he draws. Sci-fi filmmakers also use this approach.
“Sci-fi movies are full of ideas about technology, objects, buildings, and robots. Each background has complex details. I think that seeing things that are different from the modern world is always fun and exciting,” said the artist.
Tithi Luadthong encodes his ideas and dreams into fantasy illustrations. However, in addition to charming images, he also often turns to the world of neon dystopia and looks pessimistically into the nearest future of humanity.
“I imagine that our work desks will be filled with lots of tangled hardware, high-tech equipment, and multiple monitors. All in a stuffy, dark room with no windows opened, only neon lights. Working at a desk for 20 hours and another 4 hours for sleeping. Offices in the future will probably look like this,” is how he described one of the favorite works from his portfolio.
Fantasy digital illustration is a medium that allows artists to continually improve their skills and master new techniques, Tithi said. To find his own style, he tried different styles and continues to do so.
