The internet united over football this past Sunday - but not for the reason the NFL was hoping for. Even before the first play, the league had already taken multiple L's. Due to the controversy surrounding Colin Kaepernick, many fans had already expressed that they would be sitting Super Bowl LIII out - and for those who watched, it's safe to say they didn't miss much, especially if they were on Twitter.
In what is being called one of the most boring super bowl games ever, the most entertaining part of the day was scrolling through the endless reaction memes. Even those who know nothing about football joined in, roasting the horribly anti-climactic half-time show by Maroon 5 and the grotesque queso that Fox News anchor Dana Perino tweeted out. Super Bowl LIII was the lowest-watched Super Bowl since 2009, and the lowest scoring game (13-3) ever since the Super Bowl began - but at least we got some priceless memes. Sure, Adam Levine can go shirtless during his halftime performance. But when Janet Jackson does the same, she gets pulled off the stage. Ridiculous.

If anyone's really wondering, it was a song that the whole Spongebob gang gang played at a superbowl (with real people, not fish) in a marching band. We were told there would be a tribute and everyone assumed they would play this song at a real superbowl, therefore living out the episode, but they played a 2 second clip of it and some rapper jumped in right after it.

And this description is one of the reasons I hate most sports. It's second after being angry that they are the cause of any actually good show getting cut off.

Meh, honestly, I don't care about any of this. No need to shame Americans for being excited about something that's part of uniquely their culture and doesn't hurt anybody (hopefully so, hope it's not like hooligans in Europe, when they get violent). Just let them enjoy. Don't like the memes? Skip. No need to feel offended just because you - a non-American - were not included into something completely American. *shrug*

Countries outside of the US are doing a lot of talking about something they "don't care about". Just saying. As for me, I really don't care. I never watch football (or any sports).

Are we?? - When was it? Where was it? What sport? Who played? Who won? What was the score? What actually IS this SuperBowl thing? - it it like the World Bowling Championship? Looked though a few of these memes and couldnt work out a single answer. All I could glean is what artists played at half-time.

I am an "American". I live here. Do not care about the super bowl and have no idea what the sicko mode is and am not going to google it. Just because I live someplace doesn't mean I care about what other people find fascinating. I know there is a manchester united... at least I think its called that. If I lived in the UK I would know just about the same.

The rest of the world thinks everything coming out of US a*s is awesome. There are super bowl parties, super bowl live views, super bowl whatever. They explain the rules every time but guess who does not play "football" ... yes., the rest of the world. We're watching a sport nobody is playing.
