The creators of the comic series told Bored Panda that they picked dinosaurs as characters because they find them really interesting and cool.
When you look at their comics, it seems like the dinosaurs are trying to deal with their mental health problems, but they've kind of become used to them. James and K say this is somewhat true. They believe it's a common experience. You struggle a lot before you find out what's wrong, and then once you know, you hopefully get the help you need to make things a bit easier. But it's always a part of your life. And once it's diagnosed, you think about it more, try to understand it, and make sense of it.
This is so true. We never really appreciate those who mean the most to us instead we complain about the people who mean the least.
The artists shared that these comics usually concentrate on friends and family because, while medicine can help, they think having the support of people close to you is really important when dealing with mental health problems.
This is not the first time we feature "Dinosaur Couch" comics. If you're curious to see more heartwarming cartoons by James Stewart and K Roméy, make sure to check out our previous post!
I like the overall art style, but the somewhat sketchy ones like this one are extra cute.
The age old battle: "Don't ignore me," versus "Please leave me alone!"
This is me when people comfort me. (Usually only in my head.)
This is like when you've been through everything with someone but life starts to take you two apart. You're still rooted in the same history and the same love, and even with some newfound distance, you still have a profound connection to each other.
Yeah, I’m supposed to be a responsible adult once I go off to college, but I really don’t think I’m capable of being an adult. (Edit: thank you for all of the reassurances and kind replies! They made me smile 😄)
Me when I should be writing on my book but instead I’m thinking about writing on the book
I loved all of them! All the dinos! All the sweetness! My heart is happy and I am smiling 😄
I love the dinos, I love the art, and I love the messages that the comics portray.
