They've seen enough weird s**t, I'm thinking. I love beagles and I'm glad they made it to safety!

While scrolling through social media, we often come across content that leaves us saying, "Wow." People usually invest a lot of time and effort to capture that one perfect shot. Whether it's waiting for the right moment, adjusting the lighting, or finding the perfect angle, getting a flawless picture can be a lot of work.

It comes as no surprise that nearly 2 trillion photos will be clicked in 2024. To give you a clearer picture, imagine this: people globally snap around 61,400 photos every second. That’s 3.7 million every minute, a staggering 221 million every hour, and an eye-watering 5.3 billion photos every single day.

But here’s the thing: out of the 1,940,000,000,000 photos taken in a year, not every one of them makes it to the "perfect" category. There are many that fall into the realm of "blah" or candid moments. Sometimes, we capture random, everyday scenes that might seem mundane or awkward but end up being somewhat intriguing.

These pictures, often taken spontaneously, might not have the polish of a carefully planned photo, but they surely hold their own charm. And the 2022 Dirt Instagram page, which has nearly 43k followers, is full of slightly amusing content.

Among the billions of photos humans click, not every image is planned and meticulously staged. Many are spontaneous shots that capture the beauty and bizarreness of everyday life—from a cat making a silly face to a microwaved bag of chips.

You might find these unpolished, slightly intriguing images quite relatable because they reflect genuine moments and emotions.

Many people value authenticity over perfection. Kerry Hall, a digital marketing consultant, points out, “In a world cluttered with misinformation and fleeting trends, authenticity serves as a beacon of trust. Relatable content resonates on a personal level, encouraging interactions, shares, and discussions.”

The allure of these intriguing photos lies in their ability to capture the beauty in the ordinary. They remind us that not everything has to be perfect to be interesting.

For instance, a photo of an unusual cloud formation might not be a breathtaking sunset, but it invites us to look closer and appreciate nature’s subtle quirks.

I love the way North Americans say "squirrel", so I very much appreciate the number plate. I used to get my American friend to say it for me when he lived here. Also the word "figure". Then I would say "body" and "Tuesday" for him.

Mantis' are our friends, at least if you grow fruit and tomatoes. I comb the neighborhood every spring for these 100% eco friendly pesticides, most of my neighbors just kill them. My 'maters and such attract all those delicious grasshoppers and other tasty bugs, yon mantis soldiers put a stop to nibbled/spotted/rotting produce straightaway.

Kept one indoors for almost two years. Dunno how long these ladies normally live, but mine nested in a rabbit hutch in good weather, and a converted iguana habitat when cold. Was the perfect insect remover, and when she died had turned brown, and was a tick over 19"long all together with reach. Best pet I ever had.
