Comedy and tragedy, or so the saying goes, is a matter of perspective. You falling into a well is comedy, me getting a papercut? Tragedy. Fortunately for most, through the magic of the internet, it’s possible to find and display moments right before (hopefully hilarious) unfortunate events.
We’ve gathered some wonderful examples of moments captured seconds or even milliseconds before disaster. So get comfortable as you scroll through, upvote the best ones, and feel free to share your thoughts and opinions in the comments section below.

I Asked If I Could Pet Him. The Answer Was, "Sure, He’s Friendly." Dog Starts Growling In The Second Picture
Please stop lying about whether your dog is friendly. You can say "sometimes", "we are practicing", or even "with family". There is nothing wrong with "not so much!" I remember a German shepherd coming to attack me, it was off leash, growling, snapping, barking, the whole shebang. Owner starts shouting that it's friendly and I pop back that he didn't look friendly to me! I kept telling him to get his dog control your dog, I didn't want to hurt it. He just kept responding that it was friendly. He did finally get his dog on a leash and I said something smart. Friendly dogs don't react in an unfriendly way. People may want to try and get to know your furry friend expecting that we share the same definition of "friendly". If they're not quite good with others yet, let us know and definitely keep it on a leash.
This! Especially pity owners. Breed has a bad enough reputation, without half of their owners being morons.
Load More Replies...A friendly dog may not want you, a stranger much larger than them, to sit down and get in their face. And put both hands on them in a dominant manner. All while they are leashed/ unable to run away. This has NOTHING to do with the breed, training, or owners "lying". Most humans are friendly until you sit next to them and put a hand on the back of their neck and another on their chest.
Good analogy. Doesn't matter if it's a light touch - it's unsettling to be touched by people you don't know.
Load More Replies...If a dog starts growling doesn't necessarily mean he is unfriendly BUT don't just put your hand on his back as a complete stranger. The dog's owner should have given instructions. Let's hope he doesn't read the panting face as smiling 😊
It's because the doggo can't see the kids' back hand .. they don't like being groped either!
Enclosing a dog like that, with one hand on top and one on bottom, isn't a great idea either, especially if you don't know the dog.
Load More Replies...That's why you ask permission from both the dog's human, AND the dog. I love that dog's colouring <3
you can tell from the dogs expression in the first picture that they don't want him hear them
It’s your lean my friend. I know that to you it may not seem like you’re leaning over him, but to him you are. From what I can see of his body position, he looks like a forward dog. Leaning over a strange dog like this is taking a risk, “friendly” or not. To him it’s not acceptable.
A lot of people don't understand that pitbulls talk just like huskies. Until you get used to the sound, you might think they are growling
Staffys, too. My mix has full growling conversations with us mixed with a bit ahoooo. He even brings toys growling but happy
Load More Replies...The problem with many dog owners is, that they don't realise, that the person who wants to pet your dog has no knowledge of how to behave with dogs. How could they if they never lived with a dog?
It took a few seconds to realize that the cord was not going out of the dog’s ear into his ear.
"One picture is more than enough for you dude, If you want more you better pay"
Dogs have a great sense of character, when it comes to people. Doesn't always mean that you are a bad person, you can simply have negative energy at that moment, or even nerves can trigger a dog to be defensive. As any person would be.
Like the old joke: 'I thought you said your dog didn't bite?' 'That's not my dog.'
Oh my! Does anyone else see the complete change in the dogs eyes? Like something snapped and you can see the crazy in the dogs eyes. That's scary looking.

Faster camera? I can catch moments on my Nikon that I can't begin to catch on my less expensive cameras. Also, I think several of these might be from video where they pulled one still frame from the right moment.

I can't remember the last time I cried so much from laughing without making a sound. Haha! Even had to fetch a tissue. 🤣
