People Are Sharing The Names They Now Call Their Pets Instead Of The Original One, And It’s Hilarious
Just like when naming a baby, a great deal of care and thought normally goes into choosing what you'll be yelling at your furry friend for years to come. In practice, however, most of us just end up calling them whatever comes to mind over the years, and at some point realize that those nicknames have actually become their identity. Twitter user @MooseAllain recently shared the unfortunate moniker their pet was doomed to carry, and sparked a chain reaction of other animal owners confessing how their companions' names 'evolved' as time went on. It's one of those truly pure and delightfully hilarious moments on the Internet that just makes you want to tune everything else out for a short while and have a giggle.
Scroll down to see what people are really calling their pets, and let us know what you're guilty of dubbing yours. (h/t)

Load More Replies...LOL. We spent our 10 hour trip from Hungary to Bulgaria in searching of the best name for a male pem corgi pup. First, we wanted to call him Mavrud (because he's red). Then, for almost two hours he was Rudy(shortened from Mavrud). After that he became Radar, then Rotor, later he was Jango, in 45 minutes he was once again Rudy, he quickly became Misho(shortened from Michael in Bulgaria), when we crossed the Serbian border he was Tori, after half an hour he became Marko and when we were 120 miles from home, he became Argus(Harry Potter reference) and shortly, Argo. Now he's got tons of nicknames (he's commonly known as Lis, shortened from the Bulgarian word for fox, or Gruhin, which actually means Grunter) but Argo is the name we use while we train him. And when I think that the first name the breeder gave him was Spiderman...

My cat was Miss Kitty, which turned into Amanda Blake (Actress from Gunsmoke who played Miss Kitty) And ended up as just Amanda.
My dog's name went from "Nugget" to "Nug Nug" and then to Nug nug nug , nug nug nug nuggie nuggie nug sang to the nickelodeon theme song. (go ahead sing it your head, you know you wanna)
I have several cats. The oldest (13) is a Siamese called Mixa ("mee-sha"). We call her Mimi, Mini, Minimí, Pitimini, Piti, Gatarata ("Ratcat"), Mixeta, Minina, Mina, Miximini, Miximinini... She basically responds to anything that has "Mi" in it.
When my ex got a dog he named her Kush after his favorite pass time and he began calling her kushie. Within 3 days I told him I couldn't continue to call her that and banned her princess. After him an I broke up I took her given I paid thousands for a life saving surgery. Now she is known not only as princess but also nar nar, princess piggy, princess p, and spoiled @$$. Her sister is Shelia, Sheshe, Shebee and Shebees. Brother Rufus, ru, ruru, woo, woowoo, ruga, and rugala.
My girlfriend's dog was named Chucky after the antagonist in the film Child's Play. He also has a second name, Jason, after Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th. So we call him Chucky Jason or Chucks or Pooch. We've also called him Bastuso and for some reason, went through a period were he was called Bepanthen
i am sooo frustrated now as my cats' names are in italian and the puns would be lost if translated in english! i'm glad to know i'm not the only one tho :D
I know the worst thing to do to a joke or pun is explain it, but we would love to hear your cats' names! (plus why they are a pun :'D)
