My Son Turned My Life Upside Down, I Illustrate It In 20 Honest And Funny Comics
Hello!
My name is Luba Sobol. I’m an artist and a young mom from Russia.
I started to draw these funny comics based on my experience of raising kids when my son was 9 months old. He is my first child and I never imagined that being a mom is such hard work!
But as it turned out, you can have quite a lot of fun even when your life is turned upside down by little kids. When you sink into your daily parenting routine, the best you can do is laugh. I laugh at situations and at myself and it helps me to stay afloat in this sea of merciless motherhood.
At first, I used a smartphone for cartoon drawings. It wasn’t comfortable because of the small screen but I couldn’t use other drawing tools because my baby required maximum attention.
Now, my son is almost three years old and I feel relieved. He doesn’t spend all the time in my arms, he can play on his own, he can say what he wants and he can make jokes although he doesn’t realize when he says something funny.
My parenting comics are mostly based or inspired by real stories that occurred in our family. So it’s funny how so many people see themselves in my comics.
Maybe these stories happened in your family, too! Anyway, I hope you will enjoy these relatable comics!

My daughter used to have me put her in places to hide and then tell me to forget where I'd put her so I'd have to go look all over the house
Hmm where is he... Is he in this jar of peanuts? I'd better eat each one just to make sure he's not hiding under one.... MOM I'm right here!! Hi right here- I'M MOM!!!
hmmm. well he can't be behind the curtain...nope. Is he... in this jar of pickles? I'd better eat these pickles to make sure he's not hiding behind one :3 *eats very slowly* MOM I'm right here! Hi right here... I'M MOM!!!
This is my favourite as I remember all my 4 doing this plus my niece they would hide then shout for me to come find them easy to find with all the giggling and feet and hands on show, when they got older they played it with each other and as I babysit my 8yr old niece a couple of times a week as her mum works the youngest will play with her and I get auntie debs hide me hide me 😂

I expected for this one to be just like all the others (there are way too many parenting struggles comics on BP) but I really love these! They show the struggles of the mother without making you hate the kid, they're funny, simple, and the drawings show the expressions perfectly.
Very funny and cute! I lol'd a lot at these- this is like a snapshot of my day.
