Bored Panda reached out to Gems Of Replies to learn more about the account and the inspiration behind it. The creators were kind enough to have a little chat with us and started out by mentioning that the project started organically.

The idea came about because they wanted to provide laughs to the audience on Twitter since sometimes it is seen as “a very serious medium and a social platform which is full of negativity and toxicity.”

“So we thought why not feature content from Twitter only, which had captivated our attention and was memorable in nature, so we thought that we’ll catalog those replies and that’s how we started,” they explained.

Gems Of Replies was created only last month and since then it amassed more than 49.1K followers who are greatly entertained by their content. “People enjoy reading a good reply—it holds their attention because of its spontaneous expression showcasing superior wit and excellent humor. Now, who wouldn’t enjoy that?”

When you think about it, getting a good laugh is the obvious goal of a snappy and funny retort. According to the curators of the account, the secret of a hilarious comeback “is giving a reply which elevates the level of discourse and also tickles our funny bone. Trying too hard doesn’t always work, the replies just happen.”

When it comes to finding these hilarious replies floating around Twitter, the team behind Gems Of Replies search and explore all the content themselves. Needless to say, the audience “also helps us by sharing with us any funny replies that they’ve encountered.”

“With the love, support, and appreciation that we’ve received, it’s not difficult to manage the account,” they said, feeling grateful for all the encouragement they’ve been getting.

On a final note, they wanted to add that they’re just trying to “spread happiness in this world by curating humorous content so that people can forget their tension and worries for a few minutes. If we’ve been able to do that, then please continue to support us as you all have already done.”
