Starting off the week with funny new comics has become a sweet tradition here at Bored Panda we can't be mad at. Today we want you to discover CarbComics—a humorous webcomic about an Indian guy, his girlfriend, his best friend, and many other metaphorical characters.

These comics range from funny social commentary on important topics and relationships to plain absurd and weird strips with silly puns. Have you ever wondered how butterfly and butter are related, how 'eyes' cream is made, how toothpaste is really produced, or why school is called "high"? Whether you asked for it or not, this artist answers these questions. Other than that, the artist puts a humorous and often dark spin on everyday life situations, explores mental health struggles we can all relate to, and even imagines how Earth feels about the way humanity treats it. And, boy, it has opinions.

CarbComics will draw about anything, so everyone will probably find a comic to make them chuckle or think. Let us know which ones you liked the most!

More info: Instagram | Facebook | twitter.com

The artist behind CarbComics has a unique perspective on drawing comics and doesn't put himself into a box when it comes to inventing new characters and topics. One comic might include human characters with relatable problems based on real-life experiences such as misunderstandings in relationships, mental health concerns, and funny scenarios, another features talking vegetables, astronomical bodies, materialized feelings, or even days of the week. In the surreal world of CarbComics, anything is possible, so you never know what you'll get. Two things are certain, though—it will be creative and most probably funny.

RELATED:

CarbComics posted his first comic on Instagram at the end of December of 2018 and to date, has built a following of 15.8k people. But the artist isn't always consistent with posting on schedule as sometimes, life happens, especially during the pandemic. Recently, the artist wrote on Instagram that these are very trying times. A deadly outbreak of coronavirus pandemic in India is soaring and it inevitably affects people's lives.

"It's been a really gloomy phase for me. My family and I have been fortunately safe and privileged enough to sustain ourselves. But the times are hard. Friends and family are facing multiple challenges, the nature of which are irrelevant right now. I haven't brought myself to make comics. Tried making traditional art as an escape but I'm not sure it's helping. I'm craving for a lot of food as a distraction from all this. My life has undergone a lot of changes and I'm not ready for them. This isn't just about the pandemic, it's about the effects. Hope we all make it to the other side," he wrote.

Luckily, humor and laughter are the greatest coping mechanisms to ever exist. Sometimes you just can't change the world around you, but you can change your perspective on certain things. Other times, you just need a break from all the madness, and anything that makes you laugh, takes your mind off reality for a bit, distracts you from problems, and puts you in a better mood can be beneficial.

In a 2001 study, Nezlek and Derks discovered that "people's use of humor as a means of coping with stress is positively related to how enjoyable their social lives are and to how confident they feel when interacting with others."

Furthermore, "people who use humor to cope may make light of their own problems, easing the burden experienced by others, and they may provide others with more palatable (more humorous and less serious) forms of support, particularly appropriate for minor day-to-day problems. Such ease and success may translate into greater enjoyment and a greater sense of efficacy (confidence) in day-to-day interaction."

If, after you are finished reading these comics, you still are in the mood for more coping with humor, check out more funny webcomics previously featured on Bored Panda for anyone's taste: you will enjoy StrangeTrek comics if you like horror and pop culture references, you might like SpaceBoyCantLol if you are into darker humor and twisted endings, and for something more sweet and wholesome, check out these relationship comics by Luong Thuy, also known as beisme08, or animal comics by Koffee Kat Story.

CarbComics often draws silly puns, so if you are a fan of that part of his artwork, here are some punny comics you might also like—check out bad puns by Irina Blok here, here, and here; moody animal puns by Lim Heng Swee, or funny puns by Handsoffmydinosaur.

Well, sometime the anger and aggression need to get channeled out somewhere. Best do it at single-player games or something and not at other people

Not true at all. Kind of racist. Some cultures that are brown like spice, but that doesn't mean all do. Sorry, but this is kind of stereotypical.

I'm at the age, 50, where something hurts every day. It also changes every day. Today it's my knees, yesterday was my hips, tomorrow will probably be my shoulders or back. Every freakin day.
