Remember the cats that don't care about their owner's personal space? Who could have thought there's more of them! I'm kidding, of course. Sitting in the toilet and staring at you trying to take a poop or climbing onto your face in the middle of your nap is what felines specialize in.
Bored Panda compiled a new list of hilarious photos to reaffirm you that cats are absolutely nonchalant when it comes to violating our privacy, so if you're thinking of getting one... do it. They're awesome.

My Cat Got In The Way While I Was Washing My Face Before Bed And I Got The Best Picture Of Her I’ve Ever Taken
However, don't take these photos as evidence that cats can't grasp the concept of personal space. On the contrary, like most animals and people, they're surrounded by this invisible bubble, too. Of course, every cat is an individual, and just like people, attitude may vary from day to day, but in feral cat populations, normal territorial range might be more than two miles.
A cat's tolerance regarding personal space also depends on how confident or insecure the animal is.
The First Day I Got My Kitten, I Took A Bath, She Somehow Managed To Hop The Tub And Take A Snooze On My Shoulder
Months later she still likes to snooze in the tub... Can't get a moment alone... and I thought cats hated water.
"Cats definitely value their own personal space," Natalie Cady Bishop of Cat Behavior Solved told Bored Panda. "If it is 'invaded' they may even resort to swatting or biting you! They prefer interactions to be on their terms."
So if these animals know the importance of keeping distance, why do they sometimes are forceful for attention? According to Cady Bishop, hunger and the desire for play and affection are probably the main reasons.
Every Time I Shower He Thinks I’m Suffering And Tries To Rescue Me
And you better be ready to please your kitty's needs! Even if you don't feel like it at the moment. "There is not a polite way to 'shoo' a cat in their mind. I recommend playing with them and then giving them treats or a small meal in a puzzle feeder or treat ball. Added physical and mental stimulation will result in a happy cat who will likely choose to leave you alone," Cady Bishop explained.
"This technique usually works because a cat's normal progression is 'hunt, catch, kill, eat, groom, sleep.' This is important to remember if you have a cat who wakes you up in the middle of the night. Doing this before you go to bed may ensure that you get a more restful night's sleep."
So there you have it, folks. Cats know the value of privacy, and if they choose to invade yours -- welcome them.

Snowshoes are known to like water. I had one and he loved being bathed.
Load More Replies...Or there just in water it doesn't always mean their thirsty.🤨
Load More Replies...That is one content kitty. I was tempted to reach out and give scritchies and then I remembered it's only a photo.
Like the leg tatoos. Never have the balls to do it but I love to see in other people's legs.
My first cat ever was a polydactyl named Six Pac who would throw himself at the bathroom door if I dared shower without him. He stayed during my whole shower, even when the water was ankle deep - bad drainage, lol! I miss that little brat, but at least we had 17 great years together.
I used to have a cat who wasn't afraid of water & sorta took baths with me. He mostly stayed on the rim & swatted the water. None of the cats I have now want to take a bath with me.
Aww! As weird as it sounds, I wish my cats liked water. I guess you just have to slowly expose them... I have a kitten so it might be easier, but he attacks me every time I give him a bath.
One of mine used to drink my bath water. He had other strange habits, too.
When I was a kid, from around 7 to 12, I had a male Ginger that loved to get in the tub with me. He got real mad when I was old enough to take showers...he didn't like showers, so once a week I'd take a bath, just so we could play in the tub together again!!

It's weird how some cats absolutely detest water, whilst others have no problem with it. Also, If I place my hand behind my cats back, as if going to stroke her, even though she can’t see it, she can sense it from a centimetre away from her fur. I need to do some research...
Cats have a bunch of ridiculously sensitive hairs all over their body(think of them as misplaced whiskers) that can detect air moving when an object comes toward them. Its pretty cool
Load More Replies...Ahh takes me back. My cats used to join me for every trip to the bathroom. When Tiggie (unexpectedly) had kittens, and they were old enough to explore on their own, she introduced them to joining me, so I had 8 cats in the bathroom with me.
I can understand looking at your phone on the toilet and bath tub to some extent, but would you take it in the shower.
I'm amazed at how many people have their phone in the Bathroom, Shower, Bathtub.
I've always had bathroom cats. One would run his paw thru the tub faucet running water. Another hung out in the curtain while I showered. This one can go from a deep sleep to scratching at the door if I close it & she's on the other side.
They’re very cute pictures, but I’m amazed at how many people seem to have their phones in the bath or shower...
I really think it depends on the time you spend with your pets ... and how much you interact with them Mousestuff...54b0b9.jpg
I wonder how many of these were adopted quarantine pets so they bonded more so then a regular schedule
Load More Replies...Cats are so precious and so funny. I could not stop laughing. These photos were all fantastic. If anyone is the least bit down, look through these photos with captions and you'll be laughing your butt off!! Hilarious!!
Since cats came into my life I have not once had the problem of feeling alone in the bathroom. when the dog also arrived, the fight was unleashed to whoever comes first to get between my legs while I'm on the bathroom, to be cuddled. even the shower is an event always with sold out tickets, as there are at least two cats and a dog trying to see what I'm doing beyond the curtain. the only one who does not participate is the oldest who, I believe, I know considers too superior to join in human affairs.
Lucky people! When I take a shower, my cat(s) stand by the door and SCREAM, making me get out of the shower and open the door so they can leave.
One of my cats goes to the bathroom to see what I am doing, every time, no matter what I am doing.
I've had a huje smile on my face, for 20 minutes now...my cheeks hurt, but in a GOOD way!!
is it usual that people take their cameras with them when having a bath/shower? I never do

One of my cats chills in the bathroom while I shower. He just sits placidly on the bath mat, a stack of towels, sometimes in the tub
I had the litter box in my bathroom. Whenever I went, here came Willem to pee with me! Was it dominance, or just, "hey, good idea!"? None of my other cats ever did that....
*All* of mine have (and still do) done it. And I've had 60+ over the years.
Load More Replies...Ummm, yeah. These pics are cute & all, but do people who are grown up enough to have pets not know how doors work? See, I've never had a cat join me in the bath - because I have a door.
either your cats are well behaved, you have iron doors, or your cats only scream at the door. Pick 2. :)
Load More Replies...My current cats do drive-by's if I'm sitting. One comes in at the end of a shower and yells for pets. In the past, my Ernie would sit between curtain and liner and yell. I thought he was concerned for my safety, but my gf said he was reminding me to " Use More Soap! "
I don't have cats so sorry if this is a dumb question, but why do people let them in while they're going to the bathroom? (Genuinely wondering, not being snarky)
You don't really have a choice. Cats will always want to be on the other side of a closed door - and they'll annoy the c**p outta you until you comply!

Neither of my cats is interested in accompanying me to the washroom. I close the door, and I get all the privacy I need and want. No one gets their knickers in a knot.
My cat gets his knickers in a knot if I close the door on him. The embarassing part is he does it to company too. So anybody using the restroom has a buddy at my house
Load More Replies...These are so amazing! We had cats for 19 years! Only 1 was interested in water. He was a tub sitter, shower leg licker, and faucet drinker! We now have a dog, as both cats passed away, and he is disgusted when I'd take a bath! He sits in the bedroom and waits for you, he will lick my husbands' legs. But his interesting thing is, he feels the complete need to guard me when I am in the bathroom. He will come in and literally stand guard facing the door, until I am ready to leave! If the door is shut, he will sit in front of the door, and wait, and does that for the hubs, too! But I know, if you have a pet, there will never be time alone, if you have a pet! Never, unless you leave without them!
Both of my/our cats will follow any of the 3 hoomans in this house into the bathroom when we go for a bath or shower. They seem to like the hot steamy air. They also follow just me when I go in to use the toilet, not sure why that is, other than possibly a captive audience for many pets or fill/clean the water bowl
hahahaha!!!! These cats are hilarious!!! We don't allow our baby inside the bathroom while we handle our business, and she always patiently waiting outside, if we are taking long time for her she would yelled :ROFLMAO::LOL:

Load More Replies...Now I'm worried. My cat used to push the bathroom door open when I was in there, so I got the door fixed to stay shut. No problem except - I wonder if I did wrong. Is he secretly seething with anger?
prob not ... but you did pass up some close time you could have spent with your pet without having to set aside time specifically for that, and that does make a difference in how 'hooman' they act
