Blanche shared with Bored Panda that originally she is from Québec, Canada and her first language is French!
The artist has always liked comics. "When I was thirteen years old, I would draw every night and make stories. Fast forward, after studying visual arts in college I went to university (UQO - the University of Québec in Outaouais) to do a baccalaureate in comic arts. I graduated in 2018 and it took me some time before doing little strip comics but here I am, having a blast! I'm also an apprentice tattoo artist in Montréal."
The artist shared that the most difficult part of the creative process is being consistent. According to Blanche, right now, she doesn't live from making comics, but she still wants to constantly post them and grow her community. "I have other projects and a job. Comics take time to make and sometimes it can be overwhelming, but I always make sure to not burn myself out. I think a lot of creators online can get trapped in making content and get burned out, I'm trying to avoid that."
Blanche gets inspiration and ideas from lots of things: from her life, "stupid stuff" she thinks about and sometimes, if inspiration doesn't come to her, she gets a list of random words online and sees if one of them inspires her to create something.
"My comics are either relatable or really random because of this. Motivation is different from having ideas, I'm not always motivated to draw and make comics. Motivation is a feeling and sometimes we don't have control of that, but I don't let it stop me. I think to succeed on your own, you need discipline. You need to do it and set a goal for yourself. If I would have stopped making comics every time I didn't feel motivated, I wouldn't be where I am today."
Currently, the artist is working on a project called "Poe" that is coming soon. Blanche explained that it's a silent little story that will be available on her website only. "The good thing about making a silent comic is that everyone can read it, no language barrier! If by chance one of you is in Montréal from the 27th to the 29th of May 2022, I'm gonna be at the Montreal comic arts festival!"
