Photographer Takes Portraits Of Freckled People To Celebrate Their Unique Beauty
Brock Elbank is a London-based photographer who is best known for his ability to emphasize so-called human "imperfections" and turn them into striking portraits. He is currently working on a series of people diagnosed with vitiligo, and he continues with "Freckles" – a series celebrating the unique beauty of freckled individuals.
"I’ve always loved freckles," Elbank told Bored Panda before. "What I find interesting about individual characters that I have been fortunate enough to photograph is that many have struggled with their freckles since their infancy and either hated them, or grown to live with them or even like them in adulthood."
Elbank is often surprised when listening to stories of the complicated childhoods of his models, which frequently involved bullying and rejection, as he finds each individual to be uniquely charming and beautiful. His goal for this series is to photograph 180 people of different ethnicities, ages, and genders, all of whom are about to fly to London from different continents to have their portraits taken.
From May to October, the exhibition of portraits will take place in Regionmuseet Kristianstad (Sweden), and an art book is planned to be released in September, 2018.

WOW. The rudeness of this Theresa person makes us all cringe.
This woman is drop dead gorgeous! I think the freckles make her more beautiful.
What an original and interesting face! He must have ancestors from many different parts of the world.
she is beautiful look at her eyes, her eyebrows, her nose, her lips, what i see here is beauty
Love that smile. That is a genuine smile and those are my favorite!
this is beautiful. my oldest daughter has a splash of freckles across her cheeks and nose. she would get teased until I told her they are angel kisses, and if you connect the dots - they make a huge smile.
Hey Theresa, if you're reading this, just know that if you're going through something I am sorry, but don't take it out on other beautiful people. If something is wrong, please go get help.
Theresa, we all know you're a troll. This isn't a great website for trolling though. The people here can almost immediately tell who is a troll. You'll get downvoted quite a bit here and most people will downvote just because they see your name. Go somewhere else, you won't get the reaction you want from us.
I would be really interested to know how the photographer got so much colour and depth of colour in the eyes, some of them are almost kaleidoscopic. I have freckles and used to hate them, but my husband loves them so much I have come to see them as a good thing.
I never understood why people mobbing those who are blessed with freckles, this adds so much character and uniqueness to your face/body. Really beautiful, every one of them.
As a person who grew up with freckles i really appreciate someone showing off these as a source of beauty. I was teased all my child life about my freckles. it made it really hard to appreciate them as i got older.
i wish that more people could see how amazing their freckles are. all of these folks are drop dead gorgeous.
Really Beautiful People. But I dislike the overusage of photoshop. Sometimes it looks like the freckles were added. I would like to See the Originals or at least Not this heavily retouched ones
These pictures are amazing! Is it bad that I have an urge to connect all the dots?
These people are stunningly beautiful! Such unique faces and their eyes are so amazing!
I don't get it: most of the comments are about how great the eyes are, which implies that they don't care about the freckles. I had freckles as a kid, and hated the attention it created. I know, the photographer has manipulated the images to wildly emphasize the freckles, but what can one do if the freckles are so prominent they amount to disfigurement, and one can't minimize them? I just don't see the point in gushing over how great they look when, in some cases anyway, they are horrendous. Better to just keep quiet rather than utter foolish lies.
