A multi-day trek through the Wadi Rum desert in Jordan was like a trip to another planet. The red boondocks full of rocks and orange sand were more like the surface of Mars than any place on Earth.
Wadi Rum is one of the most beautiful deserts in the world. Organizing a hiking trip there, you have to prepare yourself for difficult conditions, lack of water, heat and be sentenced only to your strength. I put to my backpack the photographic, camping and tourist equipment, food and 11 liters of water, which had must be enough for a few days of trekking. The weight of the backpack was 34 kg.
At Wadi Rum, we walked almost 60 km on foot, without replenishing of water and food, sleeping only in our own tent and using self-made maps.
Let me show you some great pictures out of Earth’s Mars!
