Especially the "you're happier" part is totally worth it. If you don't eat out every day, but as an exception, and do pursue your diet plan in everyday life, that one time a month (or however oftrn you eat a burger) won't throw you off, but it will make you happier and more content with yourself and the whole world around you.

This is so true! I began to workout recently and I cannot imagine it without my favourite music. It turns a physical suffering into a great and funny experience. I actually enjoy workouts with music and would recommend it to everyone.
I actually find the one on the right cuter. The left one looks so flat and untended. (Mine always comes out like the one one the left of course *sigh* )

When I was in my early twenties, vanity was definitely my main motivation for working out. in my mid twenties through late 30s, I was doing sports and improved performance was my main motivation. Injuries from a car accident got me into swimming in my early 40s and for the next 10 years I worked on that. Now I'm in my 60s and my main motivation is avoiding osteoporosis as my mother had her first fracture when she wasn't much older than I am now.
I'm in my 50s and exercising for the same reason. I'm in just about every risk group for osteoporosis, so I'm doing prevention now. Walking with hiking poles gets your upper body into it and makes calcium deposits in your arm bones.

I like how people are sharing their motivation for working out. Unset dementia, after an injury, osteoporosis, etc. Mine? Zombies. I literally train just enough to outrun most people in case of a zombie apocalypse. I wish I was kidding. But no. In the absolute madness freak possibility of zombies… I guess I’ll be ready.
