Even in times of scientific and technological advancements, our beautiful planet remains full of mysteries. From the incredible bismuth crystal that looks like it came from some sort of sci-fi film to the enchanting glowing forest in Japan with its luminescent mushrooms scattered along the forest floor, there are so many exquisite finds on Earth. They make us question how much about the place we inhabit we don’t really know.

Some of the most standout mysteries that have been captivating the imagination of many throughout the years include Stonehenge in Wiltshire, England. The structure consists of a ring of standing stones, with each stone standing approximately thirteen feet high, seven feet wide and weighing 25 tons. It’s believed to have been built about 5000 years ago, but scholars still do not agree on what its purpose could have been.

Another mysterious object is the stone spheres found in Costa Rica, located on the Diquis Delta and on Isla del Cano. There are over three hundred petro spheres scattered throughout the country that are still considered a great, unsolved archaeological mystery. The heaviest of them weighs many tons, and they’re believed to be made of granodiorite.

Horses are flown all the time for competitions, sales, or even moving. My friend and I imported a horse from Sweden....he was flown to the U.S. Another friend moved to England from the U.S. and flew her horse back. Olympic team horses are flown, etc.

Canada (especially from Winnipeg and Calgary) ship alot of horses to Japan for meat consumption a few times a year. They are crammed into tight crates and travel under extreme stress for over 14 hours. This photo is a perfect example of what they go through.

Yes, Feline, and also to Aisa. Most people are unaware of this practice. Valuable blood stock and competition animals are not shipped in this cruel way. They are crammed into tiny boxes without being able to turn around or lie down and they do not have access to food and water.

My heart really aches seeing this picture. Horses are one of the most sensitive animals there are. This must be horrific for them to undergo this. By the way I think that no anìmal whatsoever should be put on a plane. Especially not on sedatives. There souls or spirits just can't handle it and where not made for this. And yes I hate any kind of animal transportation. Some even break a foot, hip or leg and lie there in pain trampled on for hours. It's so so sick!!

Horses normally only lie down for 2 to 3 hours a day to sleep, but they can sleep standing up. And they normally never sleep more than 30 minutes at a time.

I am fascinated by the optical effect of the design. The statue is not at full body length, it's around 3/4, missing the bottom 1/4. My grandad worked for British Ordnance Survey in the 1950s and 60s, he went out, measured the landscape and then hand drew maps. When he died, we cleared out his home studio and I found at least 6 of these in various draws, boxes etc. I remember sitting with him as a child running them over maps to see where we were in relation to landmarks etc. I still love looking at maps 30 years after his death as it reminds me of the gentle, kind soul he was.

"Here is some cool patina. While driving back to my house Saturday night my car was struck by lightning. It was freaking awesome I couldn't see or hear anything for about 2 minutes. The next morning I looked at my car and saw this. Not only did it burn the paint it bubbled the metal. I sealed it with epoxy so I can keep it forever too bad this is on my Honda Fit.
