Everyone has a different experience and a different relationship with their mom, but weirdly enough, there are things that almost all of them do. Maybe it’s a generation thing or every mom gets a manual of very specific things that aren’t necessarily related to parenting that they have to do when they become moms.

Twitter users noticed that every mom they encountered does the same things as the next one and listed the behaviors they have seen repeatedly, asking why they do that and creating a mini trend on Twitter.

Which of these tweets describe your mother or a mom you know? Are there any other things that are universal for all moms? Share your experiences and your thoughts in the comments!

Just like we have things in common with our friends, fellow students or coworkers, moms also share things only they do. Twitter users pointed out how they all handle the phone and texting in the same way or how they have long conversations with schoolmates they met on the street while you stand there not knowing what to do.

On a more serious note, a lot of moms do have things in common because even though their experiences are different, some things are just the same as they go through similar stages of parenting and their own lives.

LOL My mom wants total control. She'll be like "I can swipe through the pictures. You don't have to do it for me." As if I'm the one treating her like a toddler. Then she gets angry because she ends up doing something to mess up the pictures and can't figure out how to stop it. I don't let anyone touch my phone anymore.

Mommy Nearest says that there are a few things that all moms go through and we shouldn't argue about them. Firstly, every mom goes through pregnancy and giving birth, no matter in what way, and they feed their children in the way they can. They have all felt lonely at some point and wanted a break. Every mom has their own worries, but they always wish the best for their children.

Moms are caring and always worrying about their children’s safety and if they have eaten. Moms become nurses, psychologists, storytellers, explorers and much more when they are raising a new human being.

According to Paula Rollo who is a mom herself, every good mom has bad days and can get sick of her children. They may feel like they're going insane, but they love their children unconditionally and every decision they make, they consider possibilities of what the outcome could be. They need peace sometimes and someone to help them once in a while.

I've seen my mom's mouth literally curl up when I was crying, as if she was really enjoying seeing me suffer. Super creepy.

Bored Panda talked with Paula and we wanted to know what in her opinion is the most important thing every mom should have in common and he pointed out what many of us would also think of, "It may sound cliche but the most important thing that all moms need to have in common is love and devotion for their kids. When we know that even when other moms are making very different parenting choices than we are, if we can acknowledge that they are simply doing what they believe to be the best thing for their kids, that makes it a lot easier to find common ground."

Oh lordy. High brightness and especially the blue spectrum light are actually what's harmful to the eyes. As an older person with family history of cataracts; give your moms a psa on this, people

Because they are going blind, duh! I thought my eyes were bad (one is much worse than the other too) but at least I don't have to have multi-focals! I admit I also get annoyed a bit at my new laptop, because it adjusts the brightness automatically according to what the page you are on looks like, but it has a lag, so I try to turn the brightness up more, when all I needed to do is wait.

Mothers are also just humans who live during a specific time period in a specific socio-political environment that influences them and shapes them as people and as parents. Mothers in the same generation are more likely to have more similar habits just because they were brought up in a similar reality themselves.

Moms also may have learnt their parenting skills from their own mothers, our grandmothers. Scientists have observed family dynamics and made the conclusion that children have the tendency to mirror their parents’ behavior, lifestyle and adopt their views.

Paula added, "Some of it has to be instinct, and simply cultural similarities. We're going to raise our kids in specific ways because of our current surroundings and the surroundings when we grew up. I try to surround myself with other moms who do not talk negatively about their kids because I want to keep things positive in my home too."

Because a lot of moms share similar circumstances, that leads them to have similar habits and say almost the same things to their children, so we shouldn’t be that surprised, and it’s even quite comforting to learn that your mom isn’t the only one doing a specific thing you find annoying, funny or weird.

From some of the tweets it seems that some people are truly quite annoyed with some of their moms habits and may think they are wrong. Paula reveals that her children are growing up so they start to disagree with her decisions. As a mom, Paula would want her kids to start a conversation and explain why they think she was wrong.

Paula says that her children are always welcome to question her decisions and give their own arguments. She thinks that it is actually applaudable because "even explaining my reasons for decisions I've made, will help them as they grow older to make better decisions themselves." And it allows space to grow herself, "to be completely transparent, sometimes I am wrong, and they bring a perspective to the conversation that I hadn't considered, and in those cases, I'm happy to go with their view."

Do you recognize your mom in any of these tweets? Why do you think they become so similar? Have you ever felt that you are becoming more similar to your mom? Share your thoughts with us in the comments!

My mom's side of the family is very distantly related to the Windsors through their German relatives. Have we been invited to any of the royal weddings? No! It's like they don't even know we exist.

LOL I sorta do but there are times when I don't. If I don't I tell her in case she's rummaging up plans. But it's always "So... when do you work next?" "Did you work today?" I hate that question because she'll ask it on any day, including the weekend and it makes me feel like if I answer no she'll think I'm not working enough.
