35 Times The Internet Decided To Teach These Ungrateful Kids A Lesson And Shamed Them Online
While different cultures celebrate the holidays in different ways, many have one thing in common. Presents! Covered in pretty paper, maybe even tied up with a bow or ribbon, it's usually not the surprise inside but the thought that matters. Yes, material possessions are nice but another person thinking of you and trying to make you smile? That's a whole lot better. To most.
Because some kids still haven't figured it out and all they care about is how expensive or how cool their gift is. Don't get me wrong, I understand that it's normal for children to occasionally feel like the world revolves around them but getting a new car and dreading it because of its color? That's just plain entitlement.
So, to remind you to remain humble and thankful, Bored Panda compiled a list of boys and girls who didn't.

Does This Count? Stop Buying Consoles For Yourselves. My Kids Need Them For Xmas
To learn more about this type of behavior, we contacted Talya Stone, media maven who now runs digital magazines Motherhood: The Real Deal and 40 Now What.
"Sadly, I believe that gratitude and humility don't come naturally to children these days because we worship at the altar of consumerism, and children in the western world are used to having pretty much everything they want, and a lot of the time it's on-demand," Stone told Bored Panda.
"Moreover, when parents want their children to enjoy the luxuries and perhaps every comfort and opportunity they didn't have as a child without any kind of struggle or wanting for anything in the mix, unfortunately, this can be a breeding ground for ingratitude and insolence. So yes, parents these days actually need to work even harder to instill gratitude and humility in their children simply because children in this modern world have it too good."

Stone touched upon something very important. Overindulgence. The consequences of spoiling your kids aren't pretty. Research shows that it leads to self-centeredness, greed, and unwillingness to be held accountable for actions, to name just a few of the unpleasant traits seen in children and adults who got too much, too often. And the fact that we are more affluent than previous generations has a lot to do with it!
"It's important for parents to teach [their kids] basic principles that can help to counteract the overindulgence as well as trying not to overindulge them in the first place," Stone highlighted.
"Children these days are so used to getting what they want without having to work for it. So get them to do some chores and pull their weight around the house from an early age (not for money though!), teach them gratitude and how to say thank you, ensure they have boundaries for behavior and discipline when it's called for, teach them manners, educate them about those in the world who have less or nothing, and be sure that you raise them to understand the value of money."

Seriously?
Psychotherapist Amy Morin said that while it's important to address a child's ungrateful behavior, parents also have to keep in mind that it's normal for the little ones to be a bit egocentric at times. However, over time, these moments should become less frequent, not more.
Talya Stone also provided a few examples of how to achieve it:
- Limit the number of presents they receive in the first instance;
- Donate some presents to charity or disadvantaged children or better yet take them round to give food and drinks to the homeless;
- Put some of their toys/gifts away then give it back to them so that they learn to appreciate them;
- Educate them about saying please and thank you and why it's important to be grateful;
- Instill a daily gratitude practice to help cultivate an attitude of gratitude;
- Demand an appropriate level of respect in your family and ensure you are modeling this too;
- Have them write thank you letters/make thank you videos for every present they receive.
Let's hope that next Christmas will be easier than this one!
Oh My God, What A Spoiled Brat
This parent lack of knowing how messed up their kid is in terms of expectations/reality/gratitude/etc. is alarming af. And they think someone is just gonna hand them over a new/nearly newcar b/c of how messed up their kid expectations are? Smh... Why do people as dumb as this parent have kids... It should be a crime or something... :/

This 10-Year-Old's Christmas List
Idk. This is just a list. Kids make ridiculous Xmas lists all the time. And not everything listed is expensive (...or alive....). I think most kids know thAt the majority of their lists are just wishful thinking. What would mKe her a spoiled brat would be reacting like one upon being disappointed on x-Mas (heck, she may get stuff she didn't ask for and even appreciate it). This one is kinda putting the cart before the horse a bit imo.
My little sister once asked santa for a life sized barbie dream house.
Load More Replies...Please at least don't get the real bunny. I'm 100% sure that bunny deserves better.
Especially if she also gets "clothes for bunny". Pets are animals and not babies.
Load More Replies...Glad someone interpreted that because I had no idea what she was referring to
Load More Replies...yeah cuz you can make slime toys with it
Load More Replies...New sheets or an alarm clock. Something she NEEDS. Maybe some dollar store jewellery.
Parent to child - you may choose three items from this list, the total of which is to be less than $100.
If they can't spell it they shouldn't get it. This list is ridiculous
How am i gonna buy a kid “Gucci” slippers if they dont even know how to spell Gucci
IF I made this list as a kid, my parents would have yelled at me and given me coal
4,000 dollars? Wow, my cousin asked for a SECOND tablet, a phone, a siri or Alexa, and a bunch of dolls. A SECOND tablet, she complained the first one is too cheap. She is eight.
Is this the writing of a 10 year old??? No really! I thought it was a 5 year old. Can't spell , can't write - maybe a few extra lessons wouldn't go amiss.
Ok that's it! This one makes me so angry I have to say something. First of all, this entitled prick doesn't deserve an innocent pet. I don't want to even imagine what they'll do if they don't like it for some reason. 2nd, not only is this list so long it can enrich an army, but 3, apparently this kid, needs someone to buy them an education first due to all the errors ala a Nigerian scam letter.
What is wrong with this child? They want an ALARM CLOCK? They can have mine.
First learn to spell. Second grow up and get a job and buy that ish yourself.
Even though she's got expensive stuff on her list she still asks for age appropriate regular things like new sheets, an alarm clock, and a real bunny. She's a possible save from becoming an entitled kid.
A dictionary so she can learn to spell. and a set of darts that you can hang this list up and toss darts at it. Highlight the Alarm Clock.
for my 18th bday i felt horrendous asking for $200... but wtf does a 10yo need "Asenchal" oils for??? lol
1. It's hard to believe a 10-year-old has handwriting that neat. I've seen it done, but it's still hard to believe. 2. This is a kid who probably has heard about all this stuff from social media or from school. And at that age they don't really have a good grasp on money, how much things cost, or even if what they're asking for even exists. I have a 10-year-old brother. He asked for a Lego Inuyasha set for Christmas. Kids be kids, man.
I don't care if she got everything else but I hope she didn' get the poor live bunny.
She's too old to be spelling like this, and too young to want any of this. Also, laundry detergent? Or should I say, landry ditugent
Load More Replies...4,000 dollars? On top of everything else, wow how greedy and entitled.
How about spelling and text formatting lessons instead? They put a margin to the left for a reason.
I think judging from the many comments here that a lot of people really need to consider not having kids. And maybe learn to lighten up. The future is looking pretty crappy lately with everyone being so self righteous. Continually. For a ten year old I think their handwriting is pretty good!
lmao! I wrote one of the nicest comments on this one (I think?) and I am kid-free now (and forever hopefully thus by choice). So idk what to think about this. Some of these comments are so harsh. I don't care if the kid is 10/11 and their spelling sucks. heck. these people could be insulting someone with dyslexia and thus at that age they would be very likely to have iffy spelling. They might have iffy spelling every now and then forever with dyslexia depending on how good of an education they get (aka in terms of being taught reading/writing/spelling/etc while having dyslexia). I honest will give kids that haven't hit puberty yet more slack in general. Also it is clear sometimes kids are brats due to terrible parenting so it it isn't 100% their fault as they were never taught how to be act normal in those cases. I mean have any of these people read Calvin & Hobbes? There's a strip where he gives his mom this huge stack of papers. It's 100 pages AND he's asking for the craziest stuff!
Load More Replies...Damn she's really asking too much. The only thing on my Christmas list was $4000.
What're you gonna spend that $4k on that you don't have the audacity to put on that list? Spelling lessons perhaps? *cough cough 'purfum' cough cough*
Definitely spelling lessons but there's nothing wrong with this list I used to make lists like this all the time my mom would just roll her eyes
I would love to see what the aftermath was if they got socks a book and smellies.

And there a friend had an old laptop which I put a SSD and more ram in and it was good another at least 5 years...

This is one of the many reasons why I don't have children. F**k that. I'd much rather spend all that money on myself and my family and friends.
Most of these will be failures who want to earn 1000 $ an hour without any qualification.
Weak. Come back when you aren’t sure if there’s anything to eat at Christmas, and cry about presents 😉
My daughter had a friend who was spoiled rotten. Each time my daughter got a little present,the girl would tell her it was a stupid gift and she had way better things. Eventually my daughter was sick of it and broke off the friendship. The girl didn't want to accept that. She kept sending my daughter messages on WhatsApp and social ,and when she got blocked she would make a new profile ,just to ask why mu daughter didn't want to be her friend. She even said my daughter would regret it,because there wasn't a better friend in the world. I stepped in and told her to stop or I would go to her parents. But she didnt care. Then i said i would call the police for stalking. At that point I didn't know what else to do. Since the girl was about 14,that scared her off. A while ago I saw that girl with her dad,having a temper tantrum, because her dad didn't have enough money to buy her something. She was 18 then.
The kids are only like this because they've seen the same behaviours modelled by their parents or because their parents have been completely useless and allowed or even encouraged this behaviour. Teach your kids to be good humans! It's a fundamental requirement of being a parent.
We were very poor...I got clothing essentials from "Santa"...one new outfit from Gramma & was thankful...A friend in '79 awoke to a ribbon in his room to follow...thru the house he went...out to the garage to discover a yellow Ferrari...he was 24...which BTW he totalled in a DUI accident. Thankfully he hurt no one...and yeah...Mommy and Dad replaced it w/a new one. 🙄
One thing about African parents(nigerians im sure of)....they will smack you right in the face,and woule give your gift to someone else if you complain about what they used their earned money to buy you...honestly,this made me appreciate the little things.
And people wonder why I never want kids 🙄. Dogs are way better. I can literally take the sock off my husband's foot, throw it across the room, and my dog's face looks just like Christmas morning. He gets equally excited about $20 squeaky toys. But the happiest faces come from $5 edible bones or picking up his leash and harness. Dogs are seriously the sweetest, most grateful kids a person could have.
They should remove those about young kids (like the 3yr old). But with older kids... well. You need to talk about money and where it comes from. It's okay to be disappointed but still be grateful for what you get. And as a parent you need to learn your kids how to properly handle your emotions. It's ok to be sad, angry etc but if you break things or sell off things cheap it will be consequences. Like you won't get a new one for example (like a lot of these kids expect...). Also; it's never a "right" to get a specific gift. A gift is a thing someone decide to give you out of free will, it's not something you have any "right" to demand.
These kids should get nothing! They probably don't go to church!! They'll be piggybacking Diwali and Hanukkah next!!
