I’m curious how a 4 year old has been diagnosed as ADHD. It sounds like a typical 4 year old behavior. My son was in 7th grade when diagnosed, and had to go through some rigorous testing. I think people throw stuff like this in because they want you to feel sorry that they have a special needs child and you’re willing to give them a financial break.

Wonder why she doesn't try to get the kids grandparents to babysit? Maybe they wanted more money too. Yeah this is going to sound harsh, but the "I am a single mother" card doesn't gain any sympathy. People should have either a) looked seriously at the state of your marriage/ relationship and finances before reproducing. b) taken better precautions for birth control or c) made a different choice when they got knocked up, there is adoption even for pro birth people. We got enough people in the world, and that "single mother" is not such a rare genetic specium that human kind will suffer without her DNA in the gene pool. If one loves kids so much they should go into teaching or work in daycare. Yes I know a parent can die or just walk out, but that goes back to asking if one partner can support a kid before having one. I never had kids, because I asked myself these questions before having kids. I wasn't willing to take the risk that my partner was going to stick around and even with a teaching degree, I knew that would be enough to support a kid. I do like kids, that is why I became a teacher instead of being a sympathy seeking "single mother"
