My Mum Is An Artificial Florist And Had An ‘Influencer’ With 70k Followers Ask For Free Wedding Flowers For Exposure
I will never understand the concept of influencers or why anybody should give a flying whoopsie about them.
I just want Instagram to shut down for about a week, just to watch these losers freak out. "How can I live if no one can see it?"

When I really like a product, I don’t even mind paying a little extra for it, so the creator stays in business to keep making more.
Load More Replies...My most therapeutic activity during the two years of Covid hell has been to troll "influencers" on social media and finally to close permanently all (both!) of my social media accounts. These days the onlt spam I get is from sundry idiots trying to deliver my Covid survival fund of nMillion² dollars! I am forced to keep using the internet becauise I write for a commercial aviation publication and have to interact with aviation companies. So ... please mail me a personalised Gulfstream G650 and I promise to "like" it.
One of my hobbies is reviewing indie, fanmade, and small developer games. I never once ask for things for free. Why? Because my readers pay me, either by views or by donations. I forward that revenue onto new games. As such, Its essentially already free for me. If you're popular enough to get things for free, you're popular enough to forward some of your revenue onto what you want to buy.
Unless you Drake or a celebrity of his size there is little to no benefit for the business
Nothing but money whores. Why anyone would spend a nano second of time with such fools is beyond me. I would willing smash every phone, tablet and computer in my home to block them from my family and friends.
That was nicely said and clearly stated. I could not have been that nice. That is why I do not work with people.
One Approach #couscousforcomment
This would probably get the "influencers" more followers because people would know they are supporting a business which supports those in need.
Aside from how gag-inducing the term "influencer" is, I honestly think some only slap that label on themselves to scam/bully freebies.

What a nice thing to do! Influencers suck, I guess self centered people are drawn to that lifestyle:/

Can we make it legal to pimp slap these influencers who think too much of themselves.
Legal or illegal, I think I'd still take a swing.

Totally. I would straight up punch someone in the head for saying that to me!

Seriously, name and shame these people. After all, exposure is what they want, so let's give it to them.
Load More Replies..."I can't sacrifice my integrity for exposure" was perfect. Also....10 dollars they didn't want to pay??!?!?
Love the guy who won't sacrifice integrity for exposure! Sounds like a true artist to me!
With the joys of social media, there’s also been a rise of new types of celebrities. You suddenly start to see emerging new names — from mega, macro to micro and now nano-influencers, they truly seem to be having their moment online, transforming our feeds into a battleground full of ads, promotions, and brand endorsements.
Today, it’s nearly impossible to go through Instagram without coming across at least one sponsored post or a carefully staged product picture. But not every influencer ruffles our feathers. There are plenty of decent people out there who share their experiences and stories because they generally want to connect with their audience. A personal touch goes a long way with consumers, so their followers can certainly feel it.
More often than not, however, people who believe they are famous can become greedy. They push forward and keep at it to be liked and acknowledged, no matter the cost. After all, collecting and maintaining a large audience is one of the biggest goals influencers have, and the size of their follower base is the thing that makes them relevant to the professionals in advertising.
I Took Some Advice That Were Given After Posting The Conversation I Had With A Tiktok “Influencer” Yesterday. This Is What The First Person I Made The Offer To Said
"really drive up sales"... "naah cant promise 12 people to purchase anything, I'm out"
This is my favorite response to this type of ask; make them admit themselves that the 'exposure' isn't worth anything.
Load More Replies...That's a really good deal for a person looking to be a serious influencer. This person just wants free stuff
Indeed that's a great idea and everyone wins (if the influencer is serious about promoting and just not after free stuff)
Load More Replies...Yeah, the truth is, that all these people who are followers are pretty young, aspirational and often don't have any money (rather like the influencers themselves, I suspect). So I remember reading about this one girl who had 400k followers, and managed to sell two t-shirts total from her "influencer promotion".
12 sales and you get a refund....all this so called "influencing" went out the window real quick. Lol
At first I thought "Hey, this TikToker have nice stats", then "hey, this company offer a very nice and fair proposal". And then the TikToker shot their own foot.
Large “Influencer” Wants Free Clothing From My Small Brand
Hence the reason why I think they should never be referred to as or given the hype of being called "influencers".
The problem with "influencers" flexing their numbers is that they can buy a lot of fake followers and comments to make their numbers higher, so even if they do promote something, no one real is actually seeing it
They’re Back
Got to give half a point to the influencer, for saying "if not, we completely understand". First time I've seen that.
The sad part about this is that she ain't gonna learn a god damn thing from it
I so much want to see any responses (if they dared) from these numpty influencers...
even though she wanted stuff for free in a struggling time is bad, she was one of the people who were able to ask in a proper manner and politely.. which is not a standard when asking for collabs..
Needless to say, this industry has rocketed over the past few years. According to Statista, influencer marketing has become one of the most popular and effective forms of online marketing. You see, hundreds of thousands of people browse the net every single day, looking for entertainment, inspiration, and a variety of recommendations. So, of course, marketing professionals use this as an opportunity to promote their businesses and clients.
"The global influencer marketing market value has more than doubled since 2019, standing at around 13.8 billion U.S. dollars as of 2021," Statista reports. Experts predict that the industry will only become bigger and stronger every year, making the collaborations between creators and brands even more fruitful.
Influencers Are The Worst Choosing Beggars
Price discrimination is legal as long as it isn’t used to target a protected group. Student discounts for example are fine, or free entry for women to a nightclub.

I would tell them I don't want reviews from people who don't know proper grammar. This is not the correct use of "and I" and it's such a pet peeve of mine.
Agreed. Why it is so hard to figure out I and me in a sentence? If you went to a movie with a friend, just subtract the other person and say it as though you are the only one who went. You wouldn't say, Me went to a movie. No, you'd say (name) and I went to a movie. Works in every case. Not hard if you think about it and make it a habit.

Instagram Influencers Offer The Best Incentives To Work For Them!
I'm pretty sure somebody with the money to travel for months and professional camera equipment can find much better things to do than follow an influencer with less than a half mill followers around.
I would say yes- put a clown filter on her, take the photo, then leave.
This is batshit... you must pay me to "like you"... bc I will have to work very hard at pretending.
Many creators strive to exponentially grow the number of followers on their social media platforms. Yet, people with a thousand followers sometimes already feel entitled to free stuff just because they throw around the word "exposure" every chance they get. Well, as you probably noticed from this post, they tend to overestimate their worth and instead end up looking arrogant and downright annoying in the worst possible ways.

Thank you! All those 'influencers' need to hear this. If they're so rich and famous, why can't they pay for it like everyone else?
Ig Influencer Wants To "Collaborate" W A Surgeon And Get Her Implants Removed After Being Told It Would Cost Her Money. Even Says Her Exposure Will Pay For The Money She Doesn't Pay
She might get one of those "professionals" who work from a shed. Anesthesia is administered via brick. They'd probably remove more than your implants though.
Looks like she's fake enough already without any added extra plastic...
Whadda maroon! I suppose there's a vague possibility that someone could get a surgeon to waive their fee in exchange for exposure, but not an anesthesiologist or surgical nurse! Not to mention that using an operating room costs money, and the most entertaining thing she could possibly put on social media would be the conversation where she tries to talk a OR manager into using an operating room and all the supplies needed for a surgery in exchange for social media exposure.
This one is also extremely stupid, any surgeon who would need exposure that desperately is so bad that they would probably butcher whole thing...

Load More Replies...Well, thanks for letting everyone know up front that you're a cheap scammer who likes to take advantage of people for your own selfish gain.
It turns out people are getting quite tired (and often very confused) about this whole influencer culture. While some artists and businesses choose to give in or simply ignore their requests, others are making a stand and publicly shaming their entitled and toxic personalities online. Well, there’s nothing more satisfying than watching someone so full of themselves be put in their place.
Joei Chan, global head of content at Linkfluence, explained that more and more people are seeing a lack of authenticity in these internet celebrities’ posts. "People are sick of all the generic cookie-cutter posts showing celebrities posing with teeth-whitening kits, boutique clothing, or even appetite-suppressing lollipops. Instead, social media users are looking for real, unstaged content to engage with," she wrote.

'Restaurants frequently ask me to come in and try their pizza for a post' yeah, in her fantasies
If I knew where this was I'd go just to make sure they get sales. Also, before you pulled out the "influencer" card, they probably would have let you have it but your ego got in the way.
I have been laughing at this for a minute straight. I'm not sure what's more astonishing: them being short $.30 or them being ignorant enough to think their 1-star review would convince people not to go there. If I read that review for a local restaurant, I'd be inspired to go there.
"Influencers" If Words Had Punchable Faces, That One Would Be The Most Punchable!
Ohhh Melissa, you cad. Throwing in the dying mother is a sickening touch (on more than one level).
Her "client"? Oh please, with 55k followers there's no way she's paying an assistant or whatever this Melissa is... 100% the "client" is sending the emails herself to seem more important.
Melissa is either fictional or deluded. Probably both.
Load More Replies...Really quick to pull the "name and shame" card huh? You tried and failed horribly at extorting products out of hardworking people and then you want to "name and shame". There is only one name to be shamed and that's yours.
I've seen this one elsewhere, and the photographers then go on to rip "Melissa" to shreds for her poor grammar, pointing out that someone who, apparently, works in the communications industry should be able to phrase a sentence correctly.
This email didn't date well.. "I'm aware this wedding date is greatly two years off" sent in 2019(ish) pre covid HA!
"would of"...... I don't know why that s**t really gets on my tits.. but it does.
Plus, let's not forget the rise of fake influence. "Influencers face huge incentives to boost their numbers when it comes to followers, likes, and comments, and this has given rise to issues with bots, paid follows, and other shortcuts," Chan mentioned.
"In fact, studies have found cases where the influencers engaged by major brands have follower bases that are estimated to be up to 70% fake. This isn’t just a massive headache for brands: it’s also another huge reason behind the disillusionment with influencers in general."
Influencers Have Been Around At Least Since 1937, When Agatha Christie Wrote About Just Such A One In Death On The Nile.
Stupid people have been the same for so long it isn't even funny.
Once again, "influencer" is just a new term for advertiser. These people are just adding a scam to their "trade".
D list 'celebrities' have expect free entry to nightclubs, free meals in restaurants, etc since forever. What's new is the volume of people that are deluded enough to think they are in this group. At least previously you needed to have been on TV at least once.
I remember the term being a new marketing term before social media, when marketing companies were making use of personalities that had social cache (rather than being famous in the old fashioned way) to publicise brands (usually more edgy, niche brands, not Coca Cola, especially new to the market). I remember reading an article about it in the 90s
Death on the Nile RULES!!!! I've read the book seven times and hope to watch it soon!
In mrs. Otterbourne's defense, she was supposed to be a fallen from grace author whose books stopped selling and stirred quite some controversy causing her sales to plummet and to deal with all that she turned to alcoholism. I'm pretty sure that before all that she did enjoy the fruits of her fame, and she only became a bitter entitled "influencer" in her later years not being able to deal with her decadence :p Her character was hilarious >.<

They are so immature to think they can talk to someone like that and not this is crazy they should not be allowed to ask for free stuff like that it just dirt
Just like idiots, don't bother getting too chatty with these types. Their stupidity may be contagious.
Self-Proclaimed Reality "Star" And Influencer Is Now Taking Applications For Another All-Expense Paid Trip Abroad For Her And Her Girlfriends. Must Include Makeup Artist.
These idiots make me so angry. Teaching young people that you are entitled to things for free and don’t have to work for them is creating a terrible generation of lazy fools.
plus they're grammer is atrochus. ie: "me and my girls decided...: is incorrect use of the first person pronoun. Correct usage is "My girlfriends and I decided..." Whenever uncertain as to use "me" or I" with another person, just remove the other person and see if it makes sense. ie: "Me decided to..." does that sound right?
Load More Replies...How do they know they aren't going to get "sponsored" by a human trafficking organization?
"After careful consideration..." I doubt they thought about it that long
Well, that seems to be the case here. Many of the so-called influencers people exposed in this list simply want to get a moment in the spotlight. They believe that just by promising to mention others in their stories for their followers (with a big chance that most of them are fake), it somehow justifies the fact they want to get everything for free.
The sense of entitlement for some of them is through the roof, and business owners, service providers, and artists are beginning to see that. Thankfully, we have plenty of people online who continue to do everyone a public service and shame their desperate cries for attention.

If the TikToker would just pull their head away from the screen once in a while and go outside, they would see all the job vacancies. Hell, I can see them, and I live all the way across the world
I don't know about that one. No one asked pink, which I assume isn't a friend/relative (those would have had the email address?) for their opinion about blacks life situation and choices. And really, "stop doing what you like to do and want to try to build up, to get a normal job" is an 'advise' as old as time and as ignorant as you can get towards a stranger. If pink absolutely wants to try the ticktock/social media route, let her. If it goes sideways, they'll notice and can change. But they don't have to ignore their dream just because some stranger, or anyone, really, isn't pleased and want them to do something that's more their own idea of a good life.

Just cook some pasta and pour a jar of tomato sauce of it. You're welcome ;)

Very late to the party because I search these posts out. I just turned 40. I've finally realised the rich are rich because they don't spend money. They beg for freebies, which they often get. “Influencer” Wants A Brand New Leather Jacket But 10% Off Isn’t Good Enough
My company has worked with "serious" influencers for some time. Most of them had suggested coupon-code based business models by themselves - like "Give me a code to promote, and I get 1% of every puchase where it is used". That was a collab we could work with, as it was measureable. Most of these did not even ask for free products, as they (rightly) assumed the income would more than justify the costs. But for this to work, you need to have a real follower base and a certain credibility - both of which most wannabe influencers lack. It all comes down to the difference between a professional and an entitled wannebe.

“I’m An Influencer, Give Me Free Stuff”
Alongside the nonsense they've typed and how ridiculous the last post is, I'm also amused that they don't understand that 'media' is already the plural of 'medium'

I've just written a song, called "Filthy rich, live in a castle". I need to be given a castle and a few piles of gold bullion." In return, I'll tell everyone how generous you are.
A person with a yacht don't need promoting. And if I have one, I wouldn't let this person go on it. They don't seem to have all their ducks quite in a row if you catch my drift.

Choosing Influencer™ Wants A Free Meal
The brother of a guy I worked with had a small musical instrument store but also made custom violin and cello bows and had some impressive internationally know clients. Our boss asked my college if his brother would give a discount on a violin because boss's daughter was going to lessons. College said it was not a family concern, boss would have to ask. Having been tipped off the boss was offered a "£150 violin for just £120" and snapped it up. In actual fact, if he'd just walked into the shop he would have got it for the normal price of . . . £100!

There must be some people/businesses out there that are willing to do these things or influencers would stop asking... wouldn’t they?!
Sadly there are. Lots of "influencer families" get tons of free stuff sent to them by suckers who want their 15 minutes of fame. Many of the families even get free vacations. The Disney resort in Hawaii does it all the time - post videos and pictures of their family at the resort in exchange for a free stay. Frankly I think it's disgusting to finance your life by exploiting your children, but it's quite popular on YouTube.

So, I Make Clothes And This Dude Really Wanted Them For Free So This Is What Happened (Mind You This Guy Was By No Means An Influencer And Had No More Than 100 Followers, Which Unfortunately Matters In This Case.
So This Is A Thing Now ? I’m Sorry, I Don’t Care. I Also Don’t Care To Pay. Even If You Have 100k Followers .this Was A Dm From An Account That Shares Design Posts Of Others ( That’s It, Easy Money ) And Just Recently I Was Encouraged To Submit A Photo To Another Feed, A Renowned Food Photography Awards Site. But Here’s The Monetary Catch For This One Too. This One Particularly Amusing. In My Book.you Have To Pay To Be Featured ( And Then There Is The Opportunity To Be Granted One Of Their So Called Prestigious Awards. Oh Please. What’s More.. You Would Think That A Site Like This Would Have A Reputable Photographer Or Creative Team Would Be Behind It. Yes ? I Mean They Should Understand What They Are Looking At Right ? But No. In Fact No One Knows Who They Are. I’ve Even Asked Nicely. Emails Fall On Deaf Ears. In Addition, Pathetic, As I’m A Stylist And Not A Photographer( Well, Not Yet ) ...😂mmm) What People Do To Get Noticed? And Guarantee 200- 300 New Followers. It Is Amazing They Didn’t Add ‘Authentic ‘ In There As Well. Instagram Has Removed Likes, This Is Good. So We Can Just Concentrate On Sharing, Not Validation.maybe They Can Remove These Accounts Too. Smells Like Predator To Me. Featuring The Beautiful Work Of Others Whilst Cashing In. Not #couscousforcomment But Just As Bad. What Do You Think ? #nohawkersplease

Redneck Influencer Wants Free Concrete Work
Watch out if you're doing this. "Sovereign citizens" in my area have gotten homeowners in sticky situations by stealing construction goods, showing up and doing an hours worth of work then asking you for payment so they can buy something they need. They precede to leave with your money and you have a bunch of stolen items in your yard. It's almost always $250 or $500 they charge for things that are worth thousands. *Edit* I'm in NE US)

Asks Influencer For Free Dog On Facebook. Then Tells Me To Mind My Business After Her Public Plea.
It is my understanding there is a shortage of trained service dogs at this time. If you need one and don't have one life can be much harder. There is a process to get a service dog though and you don't get to skip your place in the queue.
Currently training my Aussie as a Psychiatric Service Dog (not an Emotional Support Animal). You can legally train your own dog. Oh and Jessica, there is no such this as a "certified" service dogs. ADA states that dogs don't need to be "certified" or professionally trained. If someone says their service dog is certified they're either lying or got scammed by an online company.

The easiest way to stop these influencers is to out them. Stop blocking their profile names. Post them in on their glory.
We all know how the minds of influenzas work since the posts of Russian influenzas crying on Instagram because it will be blocked in Russia. They are more concerned about their loss of income than about the fact that their comrads are killing civilians in Putin's dïck measuring contest which he calls a "military mission". The rest of the world calls it a war.
Influencer is a dream "job" come true for narcissists. I'm sad to see so many exist. They can never be cured they only get worse and a lot of good people get sucked in by them.
And the real irony is that people who are actually successful “influencers” (oh god, I hate the mere word but since they exist now no matter what I think about it) work like HELL and don’t expect free shìt for nothing.
