We Made An Alphabet Out Of Endangered Wildlife Species (34 Pics)

Hello folks, I am Vaishali. My partner Nayan and I are miniature paper cut artists based in India. We make miniature hand-painted layered paper cut artworks.

Here we have made a new typography series inspired by endangered wild animals.

This project aims to raise awareness about endangered species around the globe through typography & paper art. Awareness and information are the first steps toward conservation and sustainability.

Here we have showcased different species in different alphabets with their respective habitats. Each specie included in this series is either vulnerable or endangered.

As humans, we are responsible for this loss, but we still have time, and if we are informed well about our nature and its beings, then we can make a change in this world.

We hope that through this little project of ours, we will be able to create some awareness and interest in a common man for “wildlife.” We want our viewers to look at these artworks, know the names of each species, and search about them to know more.

And as the world is facing this current COVID19 crisis, this is the time we should understand the importance of wildlife and nature in our lives. We should learn from our mistakes and start building a new, more sustainable lifestyle.

"The Paper Ark" formerly called NVillustration is an artistic collaboration between myself Venus Bird and Nayan Shrimali. At The Paper Ark we strive to redefine paper as a material and use art as a means of educating people about our planet's unique biodiversity. We want to bring attention to how fragile everyone is through art and stories. To pique viewers' curiosity and encourage them to learn more about our wildlife, we took on the challenge of creating miniature, highly detailed birds, animals and all the beautiful beings found in the world. Mother Earth is our greatest motivator; we go birdwatching and exploring the wilderness around our city on a frequent basis. Every time we go out, we return with our minds full of amazing experiences and information, such as aiding Red Wattled Lapwing chicks to cross a road, releasing a turtle back into a river from a field, or witnessing a butterfly emerge from a pupa in the morning. And there is still so much to experience and see in nature that one lifetime will not suffice. We therefore hope to create a world that is more conscious of and knowledgeable about the wildlife they share the planet with by using the simple material paper as our medium and exploring the versatile characteristics of paper to create art which is inspired from our beloved wild beings.

This dude right here? He works as a Community Manager at Bored Panda. Has no back-story, cause his spine works just fine. He writes about himself in third-person, and in first-person about others. Fell in love with storytelling and cannot let that love go. Now, he's here to help you make your own story simply beautiful. Secretly makes cute music samples and writes stories in the dark that nobody has ever heard of before.
